The wife tried my white hot #5 odyssey last week and sank a 12 footer. "I am keeping this", she said. Well good for her, I just picked up my new putter today, an Odyssey SRT triball. Loved the feel of it at the store, so I had to have it. Looks a little over the top though and it larger than my driver...but seems to be a nice putter. Anyone have one of these? Any pros or cons?

I hope you got the XG due to its soft feel instead of White Steel. I tried Triball before but it's too big for me it felt like swinging a frying pan. I liked the 2-ball SRT better. If Marxman Mallet XG didn't exist, I would have upgraded to 2-ball SRT XG though. Anyway, my Marxman is coming in few weeks and I'm sure I'll love it.

Went with the White Steel. I guess if I don't like it, I have the 30 day return policy.

My bad, Triball SRT comes only in White Steel at the moment.

I have been playing a Scotty Cameron putter but recently tried a tour Edge T-Balance putter. I find the T-Balance club is very easy to line up and very easy to control speed. Bottom Line I am sinking more puts.

I have been playing with an old Carbite Mallet model that my parents bought for me a few years back and it has no good feel to it at all. I'm in the market for a new putter soon and the two I liked most after testing were the PING G5i Craz-E and the Odyssey White Hot XG Marxman Mallet.

Odyssey 2-ball center shaft, 33" length...perfectly balanced. 90% of my missed putts are due to my read.

I have been using a Never Compromise Voodoo Daddy that I bought on sale last year for $80. I really like it. The line on the back really seems to help me line up putts. I had been using and old Ping PAL 4, but the new putter seems much easier to line up and I like the heavy stable feel, especially on longer putts.

The Odyssey XG Rossie mallet putter (previously used their 2-Ball putter which was equally as good). I've always like the classic look of a blade putter but could not get the feel part down pat. I think the heavier weight of a mallet putter gives me a better feel & tempo. The kicker is that I recently visited the local GolfSmith store and happen to try the new SRT 2-Ball putter (same as the original 2-Ball but now has an alloy ring for support) and of course .... sank everything in sight. Argh ... bastards!

I switch back and forth from time to time from a Wilson Staff Kirk Currie KC1 and a Wilson Staff #8872 mallet. Like em both, the KC1 I can customize the head weight and butt weight of the shaft.

Used a TaylorMade Rossa Daytona-2 Sport (35") which now belongs to my brother for the better part of three threes before switching to an old, used $5 Doug Ford Professional Model blade (and I mean blade) putter. Now I use an Odyssey Dual Force 660 blade putter (bought it used for $30 and put a new grip on it for $6).

I bought a Ping G5i Anser the other week, and so far I love it. I have to say, the stock grip (made by Winn) is by far the nicest feeling putter grip I have ever put my hands on !

    • To flog this subject even further, if that's even possible, this article from Golf Monthly just appeared today in one of my news feeds. Written by a golf writer in the UK who I never heard of, he's basically saying that there should be only 3-5 rounds from the most recent 20 that should count towards the average and only competitive rounds should count. He claims the erratic scorers would have less of an advantage than they do now. He makes a lot of references to "club golfers" in the UK being the ones who are mostly dissatisfied. https://share.google/qmZZBEoJvOxHxJGil  In my experience with my league where we have golfers with indexes ranging from 5 to 40, looking at the weekly results from the past two years, I can detect no pattern that would substantiate the claim that the current system gives an unfair advantage to either erratic golfers (aren't we all?) or higher handicappers. Apparently though, at least in the UK, this seems to be "a thing."
