Hi,

Some of you may have already read my other posts about my research into golf balls. Now, halfway through my research I have tried to find information on golf ball compressibility. I find charts which recommend certain golf balls for beginners, intermediates, and advances golfers yet none really provide statistical data comparing the compressibility of the golf balls. Is there any resource out there displaying the golf ball compressibility statistics? My aim is to relate the compressibility to distance and the spin you get. On a more physical note, the coefficient of restitution will also be compared.

Any resources available on this topic?

Thanks.

edit: I am just looking for resources on this topic. I understand the swing is more important, but for my, research analyzing the ball is easier than a swing.

For AM hacks like us.......it's not that important.   I wouldn't get too hung up on the "RIGHT BALL"  For us, it's all about not topping it into the weeds fronting the tee if ya'know what I'm saying.

for us AM HACKS....IMO...there are two types of balls.  Do you want to spend more for a performance spin ball.....or spend less for a distance rock.  I don't think you need to put more thought into balls......... If you are a single digit HC.....any performance spin-ball will probably suffice..........if you are a 18+....any discount 20pack will do.

Until your swing is perfected and you can consistently hit as intended, the ball is not going to have any impact on your game except your budget.  Spend less on balls and more at the range and on the course!

Always changing:

Driver: Cobra S2/Nike VR Pro 10.5º

Irons: Callaway X-20 Tour 4-9i

Hybrid: Titleist 910H 19º & 21º

Wood: TaylorMade R11 3w

Putter: Odyssey White Hot

Wedges: Titleist Vokeys - 48º, 54º, 62º

First round: February 2011

Yea I understand the importance of the swing...maybe I didnt explain myself properly. I am doing a research on golf balls, I don't need to go buy them myself. Im just comparing golf ball using physics. Research of 4000 words.
