Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone had used this training aid, and if it made a difference in your swing at all.  Particularly wondering if it's useful to someone around a 16 handicap that's still working on their swing, or if it's more to just build strength for someone that already has a solid swing.  I'm looking for a way to practice in my office between meetings, but I want to be able to correct some of my bad habits, not ingrain them even more!  Any other training aid suggestions would be appreciated as well!

My teacher last year had me use one during some sessions.  I had a flipping issue and we used it to help me get the feeling of lag.  I would say it's a good tool as on long as it isn't really expensive. An impact bag is a really good one as well, although I don't know how that would go over in your office...

The office is at home so I'm fairly certain I won't get any complaints :D Could you explain more about the impact bag? I've seen them before but never really understood what the point was...

I've used one... I don't know if it helped. I can tell you though that when swinging it, I felt like I could feel where in space the club was and I could tell if it was on plane and if I was lagging well... not very helpful I know....

The impact bag helps you get the feel of a good impact position.

    • Day 4, 1/2/26.  Played 18 today;  didn't get a chance to warm up (had I known the range was closed, I'd have hit balls at home first).  Played okay, 92 with three balls in the water.  It was raining for more than half the round and I didn't quite appreciate before today just how much I benefit from roll on both drives and approach shots.  I did not adapt well to this change until about hole 15, which is something I have to figure out.
    • Day 143 1-2 Arch wrist in downswing. Having a SLIGHT cup in the lead wrist at the top now. Only paused swings with some rehearsals before swinging at ball.  Used foam ball.
    • Day 459 - 2026-01-02 Had two guys on GEARS Hybrid, so I hopped on afterward (I'm going to do this a lot more often now). So… I've signed myself up for another month of backswing work in two ways: A little more extension of the trail elbow (got into the upper 90s) Less pelvis turn (low 50s).
    • Day 31 (2 Jan 26) - Usual Friday men’s group shootout - good day of shot making  as most shots were right on line to the target point.  Putter and green reads were solid with some great par saves and a really tricky birdie.
    • Day 13 - 2026-01-02 One hour short game work. Chipping balls to different targets, compass putting drill with 2-3% slope.
