I just got back from Florida and am back in Michigan. While Im in Florida clothes you wear to the course seem to differ from what youd wear in Michigan. Such things are in Florida I would wear my bright colors such as orange, greens, sky blues, and even pink! Another popular thing is white belts. However if I wear those things up here I am looked at strange and feel completely stupid . Does anyone else have these types of people that are stuck in the age of black or khaki pants and a solid color shirt with black/brown belt? Or am I the one that is stupid wearing my bright clothes and white belts?

I'd love to dress like Camilo or Anthony Kim. In practice, I wear khaki slacks (or shorts) and a blue or yellow polo. I'll occasionally wear a green one that I like better, but I try to wear UCLA colors when with my UCLA friends.

Wear what you want. As long as you meet the course's dress code, you should be good to go.

Well, personally I think the guys who dress with the bright colored pants and white belts look completely ridiculous. I hoped that gone were the days of jokes made about how poorly golfers dressed but alas, they are not. That is just my opinion though. I am more of a black or khaki pants guy myself, although I do like the occasional bright pink, purple, or orange shirt. And I would not be caught dead wearing a white belt. But that is, again, personal preference. If somebody else wants to go out galavanting around in pink pants, a white belt, and a purple polka dot skin tight golf shirt then have at it.

How about Ian Poulter? Camilo Villegas? What of the people who dress like Bobby Jones on his birthday?

Well, I'd like to think I wear nice shirts and I don't restrict myself to certain colors (although you won't see me in pink, purple or real bright colors) but yeah I generally wear khaki shorts or pants. No white belts, orange pants or extreme bright colors for me... That works for Villegas or Poulter but I'm not good enough to dress like that. I'm not looking to attract negative attention to my game.

There is my point: I dont wear bright pants or things like that but I do enjoy wearing bright shirts and looking different than your everyday player. I dont mean that there is anything wrong with wearing a more traditional clothing style such as solid shirts and khaki pants, but there also should be room for a brighter and fun style also without the comments of "Looking ridiculous, or look at that showboat" I do not try to bring attention to myself, I just like to wear what I feel comfortable in, and what

I like. Thanks for the responses everyone, just wanted some opinions!

Looking goods half the part I always say. You could go out there are shoot a 68 wearing jeans and a undershirt, but if you present you self well (i.e. slacks, anycolor and a polo or sweater) then people will remember you in a positive way.

Anyways lately since it's come into spring in Central VA I've bought a couple off color chinos (light yellow, light blue and white) and some sorts (light blue, and a darker red). They all look nice not flamboyant. But I usually wear Black or Grey Slacks and a polo, so I'm stepping out of the usually box at my club. But I'm only 19 so it's not too outside the box.

Well one thing is that almost everyone in Florida is not from Florida, there are tons of European and Latin/hispanic golfers that adopt their styles to the golf course. Bright colors are pretty much the only thing u can wear to stay cool down here, if if its the middle of summer and u walk on the course with even a black polo on you'll regret it.

I personally think what Adam Scott wears is better than what Camilo Villegas or Jasper Parnevik wears. That classy modern look. Perhaps that's just Burberry, not JL.

I'm digging Adam Scott's argyle sweaters...I have a closet full of argyle sweater vests. So style up when you get a chance. I don't do it all the time, but weather and my mood dictates the style bug.

I'm still trying to find rain gear that fits! Around my way I've only been able to find men's raing gear and that's what I wear.

In the cold/wind, I've smartened up and gone into my ski bag for a light weight North Face Fleece that I wear under a pullover.

What do you guys recommend for your hands though? I just wear a regular golf glove but I find that my hands get stiffer as they get colder...

p.s. I played 18 yesterday and it was cold and breezy..found myself doing jumping jacks in between to stay warm

Islandgirl...try these... http://edwinwattsgolf.resultspage.co...2&w;=golf+mitts I use the Titliest version and they really work on cold days. As far as rain gear, you can't go wrong with Footjoy outergear. Good luck.

See my problem with rain gear and/or cold weather is I feel the long sleeves restrict my swing. And believe me guys... I live in NH (for now) so I play in a lot of shitty weather. Funny thing is I actually play well in bad weather... Yesterday (before the hail, snow and rain we got today) and it was 46 degrees when I got done. I'm thinking of trying a sleeveless jacket or a very thin long sleeve pullover. Something I can keep in the bag for all sorts of crappy weather I'm sure I'll get around here.

AMG - Good suggestion with those gloves... think I'll order a pair soon!

Adam Scott has nice style but I don't want to have to play like Adam Scott to dress like him. The argyle, flashy but subtle look is great but doesn't look great when he's playing poorly. Kinda like Greg Norman and the hat... only looks good when you're playing well.

CG...I have the same issue with long sleeve outergear, too. I ended up buying Footjoys raingear that has short sleeves and is oversized at the arms to let you swing more freely... http://www.footjoy.com/catalog/mens....61&s;=34884&p;=1 I just wear a Footjoy longsleeve shirt w/ or w/o a sweater vest (oversized fit but tapered at the wrist) under this shortsleeve rainjacket and I am good to go in rain and cold weather...along with the golf mitts and cigar I'm toasty. It's on the pricey side, but it should last a long time based on it's quality. Like my Dad told me...you pay for quality of construction and it should last a lifetime (dress shoes, ties, suits, etc...same goes for golf attire). In the long run it may save you money.

    • I mean there has to be some thought. For eg., something like 'soft knees and wrists' at set up and maybe a dynamic 'left arm to chin' as a trigger to start DS. I have these one or two anchor thoughts and have served me well. In fact, my wildest swings are the one where I have no thoughts or if I forget to walk thru my anchor thoughts. In contrast my best rounds are where I am consistent with the anchor thoughts.    OTOH, if I am running my entire half hour lesson (hypothetical) with some pro that I had last Saturday or whatever before every swing then I'm probably in trouble before I even get over the ball.
    • Two bits. Bit 1 The NCAA's appeal of Brendan Sorsby being granted a temporary injunction will not be heard until February, so there will be nothing to prevent Sorsby from playing the full season and potential CFP.  Bit 2 The Big Ten Conference will hold a meeting and is expected to ban all of its athletic programs from playing Texas Tech in the regular season. Georgia has done the same. The SEC will meet to consider a similar ban. Fellow Big 12 members TCU and Kansas State are spearheading a similar ban, but the conference charter might not allow it. Meanwhile, Big 12 athletic directors are meeting this week to explore what options the conference might have.
    • No, but I'm also in disagreement that golfers have no thoughts over the golf ball, and/or don't ever think I've met someone I truly believe is thinking nothing but "target" or something on most shots.
    • StuM,  I have, in the past, added a left handed club. (Ususally a 7 iron) However, I usually take a stroke penalty and move the ball to where I want it.  I play for fun and in a pinch can use theback side if my club if I don't want the penalty stroke.    RetiredOldMan,  Terry
    • So, Brendan Sorsby, Texas Tech transfer QB, was found guilty of sports betting by the NCAA. He admitted to it. He placed thousands of bets over multiple years while at Indiana and Cincinnati. This included betting on his own teams.  The NCAA rules ban athletes from betting on any sport (college or pro).  A retired visiting judge from Tarrant County, Texas has put an injunction on the NCAA ruling. He is a visiting judge because the first judge was a graduate and big fan of Texas Tech, and he recused himself. The judged ruled the following... "Under Curry's order, Sorsby is permitted to play for Texas Tech's 2026 season on the condition that he continues his treatment for a gambling and anxiety disorder and serves a two-game suspension (missing games against Abilene Christian and Oregon State)."  Don't get me wrong, I don't particularly care for the NCAA. That still doesn't mean that a college can choose when or where to say, "Yea we agree to these rules for all our sports, well except in this case." Here is a breakdown from S&W. The Hidden Weapon in Sorsby’s Injunction: How a Lubbock County Court Order Quietly Neutralized the NCAA’s Most Powerful Enforcement Tool - Law Offices of Snell & Wilmer By Ryan J. Regula On June 8, 2026, Lubbock County District Court Judge Ken Curry issued a temporary injunction in Brendan Sorsby v. National Collegiate Athletic Association, Cause No. DC-2026-CV-0791 (99th Judicial District... The main judgement made sense. Sorsby, I am going to have all this harm done to me if I don't get to play. The Judge, I agree. The penalty for gambling is too harsh, so here are all these things you must do, and I will grant this injunction against the NCAA. Basically, an analogy would be when a person goes into court for a DUI and they agree to all these other things to not end up in jail.  What sucks for the NCAA is the NCAA has appealed to Texas’ Seventh Court of Appeals, based in Amarillo. All four justices that preside over the court are graduates of Texas Tech University School of Law. It would be hilarious if all four of them had to recuse themselves 🤣. For those who like to read legal rulings...
