Hi again,

So i was supposed to go get a new set of Wilson Di11's fitted today ( 4-PW + free gap wedge ) but the pro shop called an hour before the appointment to say the had no Wilson's to hit for the fitting!

I have had my eye on two other sets of irons, both used but in great nick they are a set of Titleist AP2 710's( 3-PW ) and a set of Adam's A7's ( 5 - PW, 3 + 4 hybrid ). edit: the Adams are new but pre owned, still have the plastic on them.

I simply cant make my mind up, Basically they are all around the same price but I'm mainly focused on which would be the most forgiving ( only back playing a short time )

Please help, I'm still leaning toward the Di11's as i hit a set of Di9's on the range and liked them. I also realize that both other sets are really quality clubs.

plan is to play with whatever set for a couple of months then get them fit.

Thanks

Can you hit long irons well, like the AP2's 3 and 4 irons?  If not, then you are paying for 2 clubs you might never use.  If you like the Adams, and hit them well, my personal preference would be that set since you would be getting the 3 and 4 hybrids.  Either would be a good set, but you can't really go wrong with the Adams clubs.

I would say that if it's the Wilson's you REALLY like, then you should probably wait until the pro shop has them in stock to fit you. However, if you must have irons ASAP, then go in and hit them both. If your handicap really is 25, then the AP2's may be a bit too difficult for you to hit consistently, at least imho, but what it really comes down to is picking the clubs that you feel most confident in.

When it came time to get a new set of irons I tried EVERYTHING under the sun! I don't scrimp on my golf, so money was not a factor...I just wanted the best feeling irons I could get...and they were the DI9's from Wilson Staff. I think the problem is they are like the "Rodney Dangerfield" of golf clubs...the don't get NO RESPECT! Believe it or not I actually tried to convince myself that I needed to spend more for a more "name brand" set...but after hitting 'em all I had to have the Wilsons. Five months later and I love 'em even more now! Got at TGW with graphite shafts for only $249 !!!!!! Still can't believe it!

Whatever clubs you choose, gey the one's that feel best to YOU...then you'll never regret the purchase!!!

Thanks Guys,

I have decided to go with the Adams in the end because of the hybrid 3 and 4 and because the Di11's have pretty weird loft on them which i don't think suits me, the Titleist while being tempting are probably not the best improvement clubs for me out of the three.

Ok so just wanted your opinion on Rockbottomgolf? reason i ask is they have the same Adams A7's for $250! I was about to pay €400 so basically half price, are these clubs genuine etc.. i cant find any bad reports about rockbottom.

Cheers

I thought I had read somewhere on here that there are quite a few fakes that come from RockBottomGolf....maybe I misunderstood though.

I've order a number of things from rockbottomgolf.com and have had no problems aside from a shipping delay due to hurricane Irene. Good company with good prices. Haven't heard anything about fake clubs from them either. I've ordered a few and they're the real deal.

Same here, only complaints I read were slow shipping.  Clubs I bought from them were legit.

Have ordered from RBG a couple of times. Great prices and (for me) quick delivery.  Haven't heard the "fake clubs" story about RBG.

Actually, I thought someone had posted a list on here about which websites online were prone to selling fakes, but again, I could have read it wrong. It seems that no one in response to this thread has had any problems with RBG, so I would say go ahead and get them...but those are just my thoughts.

RBG is a good company to deal with, and I haven't heard anything about them selling counterfeits.  Believe me, once I got a couple of fake Nickent hybrids online (one on eBay and one from Hurricane Golf- both were refunded) I did my research and didn't find anything negative about Rock Bottom Golf.

I recall reading that Adams only puts a serial number on the 4 iron or 4 hybrid only.  If still in doubt, contact both Adams and RBG.

Yeah, I've inspected the 4 with a microscope at this stage =)

I've contacted both, tough to contact Adams from here and i've heard they aint the best at email correspondence. I still think the clubs are genuine just have a niggle of doubt, the guy has 44k positive versus 89 negative feedback on ebay ( surely 44k people haven't been duped ;) )
