In trying to get more shaft angle, I continually pushed my irons right. Finally after much frustration, I took a lesson to find out why (have never had a lesson in my life).

Turns out, when I thought I was aiming at the target, my face was actually wide open. I had always just convinced myself that I was aiming at the target. Since then I have changed everything, including adopting a Stack & Tilt sort of methodology.

Has anyone else had a visualization problem like this?

Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated

I struggle with aim all the time. My feet will be ok, but my hips and shoulders will be lined up way right. It really takes some effort to focus on nailing that set up before i think about pulling the trigger on my swing.

Yeah, I had that same issue.  I thought I was aiming at the target but my face was open.

Same problem here too.  I always aimed right at my target, which caused me to hit my shots right.  By aiming parallel of the target instead of right at it, Im hitting much straighter shots than I used to.

Here is how much i aim right, on about a 8 yard chip, my ball was perfect speed, pin high, but it ended up 4 feet right of the hole. I know i kinda pushed the chip a bit, but if i account for that, i am aiming 4.7 degrees to the right. Over a drive thats 23 yards aimed right for me..
