The short putts are killing me! Give me a twenty footer I will put it 1" away. Show me 2'-5' and I can miss the hole and blow by 2'. What are you guys reading  or watching?

I'm a big fan of Geoff Mangum. More than you ever wanted to know about putting on his website. http://puttingzone.com He did a video with Steve Elkington recently that I highly recommend as well http://www.therealityofputting.com/

I like the method described by Utley the most.  I've read most of the others.  Stockton is similar and his aiming technique is interesting.

I like Geoff Mangum's information in terms of what happens during a putt. I like Utley's method of actual putting. I like AimPoint's method of green reading.

The biggest lightbulb moment for my putting is the feeling of the front shoulder going up vertically during the putt.

I really liked Dr. Rotella's book "Putting Out Of Your Mind." I listened to an audio version with him reading many times on a cross-country trip. Did great things for my putting -- especially on that trip. I made everything that week.

As the title suggests, it is mostly about thinking rather than technique.

I scratched the CD badly and it will not play. I plan to buy a second copy for my next long trip. I'm an audio kind of guy and I really liked having his voice in my ear.

Thanks for the reply 1puttit. I visited the site . Seemed a little busy and did not know how to navigate the site. I watched a few videos  I found them interesting and fun. Kind of reading pelz's theory or science on the short game.

I agree, site is very busy and not well laid out. BUT, tons of good info if you can dig it out.

    • Day 159 1-19 Flow drill while attempting to add arch in wrist on downswing. Not where it needs to be but felt good working on swing flow.
    • Day 1 (19 Jan 26) - after a week lay-off due to travels, felt great to get in some drills in the backyard today.  Started with lead arm only short pitches focused on squared face and light divot post ball.  Haven’t done this in a while and it showed, with some skulls and slices.  Settled into easy flighted balls - wrapped up with standard two handed swings.  Good restart to the daily drills.
    • That depends what you do within those two.  Are they your only options?   Check out Fit for Golf if you get a moment.  It's linked on the sidebar;  I did it for two years, stopped for a really bad reason, and I plan to get back to it soon.   Mike Carroll also has a great free podcast about a lot of topics in golf fitness.
    • Day 19, 1/19.  Finished work in time to spend 25 minutes hitting balls (hit 15) indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Usual focus.
    • Day 30 - 2026-01-19 Got 10 minutes in on the mat / net working on exagerrating movements I'm working on. And grip. Also worked with my friendly AI to summarize key negative tendencies I have so that I can build a personal checklist to follow. Will do more mirror work tonight.
