Has anyone here used the ‘right foot back’ drill?

I suffer from a horrendous out to in/ over the top swing which makes any club longer than a 5 iron unplayable.

My Golf Pro advised me to do the ‘right foot back’ drill;

  1. Place you right foot 12” back so that your right toes are roughly in line with you left heel.
  2. Swing along the path of your body and hit the ball out to right field
  3. Work at drawing the ball back into the centre.

This apparently ingrains the correct swing path and should in theory turn a bad slice into a nice draw.

Has anyone here benefited from this drill?

Are there better ways to correct an ‘out to in’ swing path?

Thanks

Yep. You can't swing your hands "in to out" if they never get the "in" part. So I recommend reading this thread: Deep Hands .
