Yea.... it sucks.  I think the Wisky game next week will suck too.  I think the bucks will get throttled, but ya never know.  I'm definitely not optimistic.....

Wow, that is insane?  How hard were you swinging?!  My friend broke his driver at the range one time and the head cracked off and flew 95 yards.  The starter box had to annouce to everyone to stop swinging so that he could jog out onto the driving range to grab his club head!

I use the same driver (so far it's been my only driver). I'm expecting it to die soon. But it's a nice club. Not a huge fan of the sound, but still, it goes a long way. Sorry to hear about your "loss." At least now you can shop for a new one.

The composite callaway drivers are notorious for doing that.

I know of 7 that have ended up looking like hockey sticks when the face separates from the body.

There are serious QC issues with Callaway drivers.

It was killing me knowing my primary driver was ruined and it's no fun pulling old clubs out of retirement so I went out and did some driver testing this afternoon in front of a launch monitor. My favorite store has the high end launch monitors that PGA tour players use and a pro on staff to assist customers. I tested the TMade R9, R11, Callaway RAZR, FT Tour, and the Nike Red Victory. The numbers produced by the R9 were as consistent and good as any of the newer models so that's what I bought.......straight from the bargain bin for only $200 .  I figured why pay $400 for a driver when the results were the same with the older R9.  I plan to play tomorrow, so it'll be interesting to see how it flights the ball in person and not on a computer screen...LOL

That's because most drivers aren't designed like the Callaway FT ones where there is a join between the carbon fibre part and the metal face.

The super-tri is the exact same version I chose!!  (mine has much lower loft) Performance aside, the all black finish beats the looks of the all white R11 by 10x..LOL  I tested both drivers with the same launch monitor results.  IMO.....a no brainer....give me the good looking black version from the discount bin!!!!   Hahahaha

IMO...this is pure driver beauty:

yea...I was maybe being over-dramatic, but I don't cling to old technology.  Yes...I killed the FT-5, but I will find better.   Drivers get better every year!!

PS....I was shocked the R11 didn't beat the R9 on the monitor. .......because drivers keep improving..
