I guess lined bi-focals are legal - they're covered under medical devices. At least I hope so, because I can't wear progressives. I don't think players want to wait for me to change glasses. I need to be able to see my scorecard. But then I'm not playing in USGA sanctioned events anyway, and I seriously doubt that the line is going to help me putt especially where they're going to put it (in the lower corner of the right lense)

Stick-um? Banned, yes, but have you seen the gloves that receivers use? They're better than stick-um. Why was stick-um banned? Because who was that Raiders cornerback who wore it all over his uniform?

There are things that start getting abused.

Actually stickum was mostly banned because it made the ball sticky.  It was hard to throw with that sticky crap all over it.  And it was a Raiders wide receiver, Fred Biletnikoff who made the use of stickum infamous.  He had huge gobs of it on the inside of his legs from ankle to mid calf.

(Quasi on-topic trivia:)

Actually, it was Oakland Raiders cornerback Lester Hayes who made stickum infamous.  I believe the rule banning it was even named after him.  Many of the Raiders used it, but he was the most prolific user.

Remember the episode of The Young Ones when Vivian was putting toast into a video player and when told not to he said the instructions didn't say said you shouldn't? Same thing.

Old, old comment on a resurrected thread, but I give a thumbs up to anyone who would make a Young Ones reference on a golf forum.
