I've been working on a few things lately, mostly shortening my backswing and keeping a smooth tempo, and after filming my swing i have noticed that my transition from backswing to downswing starts with my hands falling over the top of the line i take the club back up on. The club does seem to stay on the correct plane to the ball tho. I usually hit it pretty straight, maybe sometimes hitting a block.

My question is... I've always been told that an OTT swing is BAD news, but i dont seem to cast the club out of position. Can i get away with a slightly OTT swing if i still attack the ball from the inside?

I'm goin to the range tonight so will try and film it to put a vid on here.

The left arm will be slightly more out halfway in the downswing than it was halfway in the backswing.... Don't confuse that with being "over the top"

I've just read through that and will film my swing accordinly for the best assesment from all you guys!

Until then, i found a vid i uploaded a few months back. The filming angle isn't the same as suggested in the above link but it may give you an idea of where i am coming from. My swing hasn't drasticly changed since the vid, but there are some minor changes.

If your saying your blocking shots, then your swing path is fine, though it could be to from the inside, but i doubt that by the vide. it could be a ball position issue, grip issue, but its its related to your clubface angle.

Not seeing any blocks from that video my friend. Push cuts, pull cuts, pull hooks,, variety due to the alignments

Shoulders 30* too open. Hips too far back and open.

See GolfEvolution Driver video.

Lol.

There are more intricacies how to do the shoulders, but basically, hit the ball with your hips and shoulders closed.... if your swing does infact look like this still.

Plenty of food for thought! :)

I've been working on closing my stance as i have a tendancy to stand open at address so thats an issue that hopefully i've made headway on already.

In terms of "Shoulders 30* too open. Hips too far back and open." what do you mean by too far back? as in from my arms/hands/club?

Once the weather clears up (i live in the UK so its always raining) i'll record a new video according to the "importance-of-camera-position-in-golf-swing-video-analysis" post.

All insights, advice and tips i'll be working on will be following the Five "S's" posted by Erik.. http://thesandtrap.com/t/54840/simple-specific-slow-short-and-success-the-five-s-s-of-great-practice
