Some here have spoken about the difficulty, due to hands shaking, of getting yardages?

I wanted to get the 3i, is it really a problem?

For those that are adept using theirs, do you rest it on your bag or cart while shooting distance, or just have a steady hand?

Got bought a Nikon Prostaff 3.  Works nicely when target is large enough and not moving. But if flagstick has no special prism installed and the flag itself is limp i really cannot focus and keep it still enough to make a determination.  If the stick were fatter i think OK.  So seems the best i can do is focus on a nearby bunker or bush. On the range where the target is a big board, no problem and instantly accurate.  Dont' forget these things work by shooting out a tiny beam of light which is reflected back to your handheld. If no reflection back...no response. When reflecting surface large, flat and colored, works great. I could only  buy the cheapest new at $150.

For guys that ride in a golf cart - I've been told to rest your elbows on the steering wheel of the cart - and form a tripod where your elbows are supported and you hold the laser with both hands.

I have no idea how you would do this if you were walking?  Maybe lay down on the ground like a sniper?

I can hold my rangefinder one-handed and don't get shake too much. I've never really understood this. Some people just seem to shake. :)

Do what you can to stabilize it. Put your elbow in your chest if you need to, perhaps.

Nice!  That is a Rangfinder you should never have to replace.

    • They describe it as a hydrophobic material so the fabric sheds water. Gore-tex is similar and breathable. It’s PTFE (Teflon).
    • How are they waterproof, breathable and handle sweat like a champ all at once?

    • Day 14:  I hit a bucket with my 7i and driver, didn’t hit my 7 well but my driver was good.  Played my first “real” 9 holes.  Sure, I had a few mulligans but I kept score.  Lost two balls in the water.  Had to chip from the edge of the water and did pretty good, just rolled too far past the hole.  Par was 33 and I wasn’t double but  I was closer to it than I would have liked.  I had a bogey on 9 so that ended it on a sweet note for me.
    • Day 134 - Had a tournament today, played poorly. Same as yesterday where the driving was great, but the second shots were awful. Need to dial that in tomorrow so I don’t finish DFL.
