Hi.

Could you please explain why your ebay postage rates to Australia are double that of your competitors?

You charge $69.99 for a single club where miost large operators charge between $29 and $40, even for FedEX.

Thanks

Am I correct in my understanding that a full set of irons will ship to Canada for $24.99? If so, you may have found a customer.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

Must be a new development. I've almost purchased items from 2ndswing a few times off ebay over the years, then remembered to look at the shipping charges and stopped bidding immediately.

My mistake. That is a lower rate! For some clubs you charge $85 and for others $100 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's SINGLE clubs, not sets.

I expect to pay about $70 for a set of irons to Australia and am happy to pay up to $40 for a single club.

A large operator like yourself must be entitled to bulk deals with large carriers.

You might be surprised to know how many clubs 3balls and globalgolf send to Australia. It could be a significant part of your business.

Shorty -

If you look at the shipping policies http://www.2ndswing.com/t-ShippingPolicies.aspx on 2ndswing.com they state

" International Shipping Price

FedEx International Economy (Zone #1) - $49.99
FedEx International Economy (Zone #2) - $69.99

International Zones

Zone #1: Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominican Republic, England (U.K.), France, Germany, Northern Ireland (U.K.), Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, Netherlands Antilles, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vatican City
Zone #2: Australia , Austria, China, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Israel, South Korea, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and United Arab Emirates"

We understand that these may be higher than our competition, but the vast majority of our international sales (including Australia) are iron sets.  Keep in mind this rate is for ALL items purchased on the same order, so if you orders 5 iron sets or 3 drivers it would be the same flat rate of $69.99.

Thanks!

Well to be fair, 2nd Swing has no control over that. It would, however, be nice to now how much "extra" that will be before receiving the bill.

If you look at the rates from 3balls.com they are more expensive to Canada for a single club by $8, and iron sets by $15.  Their policies state the same where it is the responsibility of the buyer to pay the duties and taxes.

"Your charge from 3balls includes only the cost of your item(s) and the cost of shipping and you will be responsible for paying any additional import duties and taxes at the time of delivery prior to your package being released to you."

Global Golf is almost $20 more on single clubs and $35 more than 2nd Swing on shipments to Canada and they also state it is the responsibility of the buyer for duties and taxes.

"Please note that all Canadian shipments are subject to Canadian Sales Tax (both Federal (GST) and Provincial (PST or QST)). Please contact your local customs office for more details. These taxes are paid by our carrier and the customer must reimburse our carrier for these charges upon delivery. We cannot change amounts for declared value. The declared value will equal the purchase price"

Any US purchase for Canadians is going to involve duties unless the seller ships via the USPS and takes their chances.  Fedex is okay. UPS is horrible (at least in Western Canada) so at least you guys use Fedex.

I felt the poster celebrating $24.99 to Canada should be aware that $24.99 is not going to be the total shipping charge. Some people to not know this. I'd personally suggest he look at a Canadian ebay seller such as golfavenue4u which is actually based in Quebec.

Sean -

We understand, and support all sellers (including 3Balls & Global Golf) as ultimately we are golfers all supporting the same sport.  It certainly makes sense to purchase within Canada to save on some of the costs that can come with international shipping, but sometimes that's not always an option based on selection.  If someone from Canada (or elsewhere internationally) finds something on 2ndswing.com we try to provide the fairest rates possible on international shipments.

I hope that your experiences in the past on eBay with 2nd Swing won't discourage you from taking a look at our website in the future if you find something that you need.  We have made big strides, and hope to be as helpful and service oriented as possible.

Thanks!

Thank you for the information regarding your current shipping policies. I noticed, however, that you do not have Scotland (UK) listed as a current shipping destination yet you ship to England (UK) and Northern Ireland (UK). I was just interested as to why this is and whether or not you are likely to ship to Scotland in the near future?

Thanks.

Thanks for that, but you need to fix your ebay software. The above comes up for a single putter. Kind regards.

    • Day 237 (26 Dec 24) - played 18 with niece and her husband at one of the local courses.  We were first out - so we pretty had our own pace of play.  First few holes were a struggle, but the groove started by hole 5.  The green side wedge game kicked in - had several kick in up and down pars.  Best of the day - had my first ever sandie birdie on #9. It’s a neat par three with a pot hole bunker - found it off the tee.  Had about a 22yd shot from the bunker to the flag.  Hit an easy shot out with the 54 that hit softly and gently rolled center cup.  Had several other close wedge shots into others that were close but no hole out.  Was a great day with the green side wedge game - and seeing solid fruit from the drills.
