Not who gets caught cursing the most on TV, but the unluckiest? Greg Norman has to be up there but he's got two majors and was number one for so long. Gotta go with Fred couples. So talented but health and personal issues must have had detrimental effects on the number of victories and majors

If you are going with the wouldas, shouldas and couldas it has to be Norman.

His own fault most of the time, but should have a major record at least as good as Faldo.

But....he doesn't.

Still one of the best palyers of all time.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

No kidding on both counts!!

Currently I'd go with someone who has zero wins.  I just sent a "Good Luck" email to my pick (via his website - not like I know him personally).  Brian Davis.

Mizuno MP600 driver, Cleveland '09 Launcher 3-wood, Callaway FTiz 18 degree hybrid, Cleveland TA1 3-9, Scratch SS8620 47, 53, 58, Cleveland Classic 2 mid-mallet, Bridgestone B330S, Sun Mountain four5.

This is lower down the skill scale, but you could make a similar case for Rocco Mediate as you could for Fred Couples.

I'd say he's lucky to get the wins he has. Back trouble is unfortunate, but even when he was healthy he did next to nothing and he did play his best after he was past his prime anyway. Couples is a legend and is well loved, and continues to show good form today. Plus anyone who won a Masters title should be excluded from the list since that's the game's greatest peak. Norman would be a totally different figure today if he ever won a Masters, but the near misses really make him second tier despite his massive talent.

In My Bag:

Adams Super LS 9.5˚ driver, Aldila Phenom NL 65TX
Adams Super LS 15˚ fairway, Kusala black 72x
Adams Super LS 18˚ fairway, Aldila Rip'd NV 75TX
Adams Idea pro VST hybrid, 21˚, RIP Alpha 105x
Adams DHY 24˚, RIP Alpha 89x
5-PW Maltby TE irons, KBS C taper X, soft stepped once 130g
Mizuno T4, 54.9 KBS Wedge X
Mizuno R12 60.5, black nickel, KBS Wedge X
Odyssey Metal X #1 putter
Bridgestone E5, Adidas samba bag, True Linkswear Stealth

I'd say Norman also, couple of the losses were his undoing, but most were once in a life time shots by unlikely competitors that beat him.

Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?

Not really sure what "cursed" means.  If it's having a tournament stolen from you, or giving it away, on the last few holes, then it has to be Norman.  He wins even if you only count 2 years for him (1986 and 1987), and count every other golfer's entire career.  He led all four Majors in 1986 through 54 holes:  Jack robbed him at the Masters with his brilliant back-9 30; he choked the US Open; won the British; and was Bob Twayed at the PGA.  The very next spring he was Larry Mized at the Masters.

What about Robert Gamez's hole-out eagle on 18 at Bay Hill?  Norman loses by 1.  It's the story of his life.

That's three guys whose entire careers are defined by holing out a once-in-a-lifetime shot to steal a tournament from Norman.
