Does anyone know drills to help feel under pressure? Because I am wanting to master being able to play under pressure.

Go to the range and picture yourself playing holes on your course, and call out a shot you need to hit.  Have a friend stand near by, and then give him $5 to Taser you every time you hit a bad shot.    Either the money or the debilitating electrical shocks will get you into a pressure mindset quickly.

It's unconfirmed, but I think I read on here that is how Jack Nicklaus learned.  If it's good enough for Jack......

Only one way. Money on the line. Give away $5 every time you hit a bad shot on the range.

You can't simulate pressure because that's not real pressure.

Noone ever masters playing under pressure.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

It's not a drill per se but enter into as many tournaments as you can.  Or play for money that is slightly out of your comfort zone.

Send $1 to my paypal account every time you miss a fairway.

Send $5 to my paypal account every time you hit an iron fat or thin.

Send $10 to my paypal account every time you miss a putt from inside 5 feet.

Send $20 to my paypal account every time you shank it.

PM me for my paypal account :)

Set up 4 tees around a hole about 3 feet away. You cannot stop until you've made 50 in a row. If you miss once you start over again.

That one actually might work thanks!

Chip a brand new box of balls over a pond. Try and land as close as you can to being just over the pond. Short shots like this are more difficult under pressure during a real match. Losing your new balls in the pond will definitely put pressure on you and you will learn to swing loose and in good form this way. Also, same concept- swing with the pond off to the right or left and try to land the ball just to the edge of the pond.

Some solid advice here in the thread... The putting drill (having to start over if you miss) is a great way to add pressure.  As it becomes painful if you miss and have to start over.  So pressure builds as you get closer and closer to the magic number which allows you to leave the practice session.

And agree that playing for money just outside your comfort level... Press/double down when you're down. It definitely adds to the pressure.  You may find that it either helps you - or proves that you're not 'ready' to play for money.  Losing a couple bills always brings you back to reality.

Tournaments, tournaments, tournaments.  I've played in a lot - and honestly - even playing for a lot of money (or at least what I consider to be a lot of money) with my buddies - never comes close to that tournament pressure feeling.  I can only equate it to the feeling of going on stage before a performance.  The more you play and practice though, the more battle tested your game will be.  And will overcome the jittery feeling you get playing in tournament golf.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I am real sensitive to pressure.  You might be less sensitive so my "drills" might be too rudimentary but I try going to the range when it's really crowded so there will be people on either side of you.  It's especially good if your neighbor is much better than you.  A group of kids messing around is good, too.

When I go to the range with a friend I will, several times, ask them to "watch this one!".  For some reason telling somebody "hey, watch me hit this one to the back of the range" always makes me choke (well ..  not everytime but a lot).

Also - go to the course as a single and pair up with strangers.

Again - I would rate my susceptibility to pressure as really high - like 9 out of 10 - so these things that work for me might not make you feel pressure at all.  I like the idea about hitting new balls over the pond, too.
