Article really didn't say much about how it changes the stores, whether there will be closings or consolidation. I thought the space was crowded, there's another big box golf store, I forget the name. Apparently the online store - Golfsmith - is doing well.

My local Golfsmith in Raleigh has the worst customer service of ANY retailer I've been to in the last 3 years. You can browse for hours without anyone even acknowledging your existence. There is only one helpful, friendly person there, Dave, but most folks there are very rude.

Now today I find out they have eliminated all used clubs from their website.

Golfsmith is my absolute last choice and I will only go there when I'm desperate for a particular item. Golf Galaxy is much better to deal with.

They deserve to be bought out. Hopefully something good will come out of it.

It's too bad too because I seem to always be in the market for something golf related.

Perhaps the real lesson in all of this is to buy from your local fitters and pro shops. Especially when the major brands all have price restrictions.

I am sorry to see the big stores getting bigger. We have lost the small golf shops in our town. I always liked dealing with people that knew me.

I agree, the Golfsmith in my area is the worst when it comes to customer service, Me and a few of the others I golf with nave basically boycotted it.. If I need something right away, I go to Dicks, Roger Dunn or Nevada Bob's (So Cal),  otherwise I use the online outlets like RockBottom.

The Golf Town stores I've been to around Boston are the best big-box stores I've been to. Golfers' Warehouse (owned by Roger Dunn) has really crappy stores, Golfsmith tends to have poor customer service, and Golf Galaxy doesn't usually have great stores.

We have a Golfsmith here in West Palm.  We also have a local store with 2 stores called Palm Beach Golf Center.  I do not go to Golfsmith..........PBGC has way better customer service, and in a lot of cases better prices.

Best regards,  Frank
