I will be moving to Greenwich this summer, and am looking to join a private club nearby (preferably within 20 mins)

I am a member of another club in Fairfield County, but it will be too far from our new home

Emphasis on golf course, intra-club competitive play and golf program for juniors (2 kids) - pool/tennis/amenities are nice but not as important to me

Any recommendations appreciated

If you've got a little $$$, then Stanwich Club is one of the best private clubs I've ever been to.  When I was playing in college, we used to have an annual match against the members.  That course is one of the best I've ever played--difficult, immaculate, and the rough is killer.  Oh, and you want some competitive member play?  The membership of that course beat our college team soundly.

There are 8 private clubs in Greenwich, some you might be able to get into, some you may not.

1. Stanwich

2-6. Greenwich, Round Hill, Burning Tree, Tamarack, Fairview

7. Innis Arden

8. Millbrook (9 holes)
