dont get me wrong im sure the dimes are probably much more like quarters or nickels but I would still consider that impressive butttttt im a 16 handicap so I strive for a silver dollar.

The silence is deafening!!! Granted the pros would never use the same set of irons long enough to create a "brown spot", but you can see the wear pattern on their irons/wedges fairly easily on TV.....most of them resemble a small triangle - nothing near this "dime sized brown spot" the OP is referencing....

While playing yesterday, I noticed a slight burn spot smack dab in the middle of my 15 yr old Ping Anser putter. Cross my heart and hope to die. Yes, I am THAT good.

Cuban Monte Christos, actually - but save that for a discussion about matches.

For the record i have hit both of these clubs many times, i just dont have them in my bag because there is not much of an advantage to have a MB blade higher than an 8 iron. There is only so much Titleist and Nike can do do differentiate in such a compact design. The only ones that would feel and possibly perform differently are Scratch Blades (1018 Carbon Steel) or maybe a custom Muira Forged iron.

I got Titliest 712 AP1s to help me with my game. I joined a country club and have been playing 6 days a week. The AP1s were too hot off the face and I would miss greens or spray 100 yards into a hazard. I decided to take the plunge and get fitted for Titleist 712 MBS 3 thru P. I love them, but I took the 3 out of my bag and use a 7 wood. Since I can practice alot I now hit my 4 iron MB accurately. I had to make some adjustments but I found having a proper strong grip to be helpful in striking the ball down the middle. With the MBs I get the magic bounces and hit greens. If I do miss hit a shot its not spraying 150 yards less. It's a personal preference and I found I love the feel of blades. There's nothing like feeling the shot. I know right away if I struck the ball well. I can't doubt myself when looking down at the tiny 4 iron head. If I do then shit happens. Golf is mental and I use what I think will work for me. I believe and I'm happy I made the switch. It's constant work......

I play the 710 CB's. I can command the same draw that I could with the Nike Blades and the 712 MB's. I just get that little more forgiveness that I need from the rough. You should consiter the CB's

I noticed your playing a little older set of Titleist irons. Just as a suggestion the 710 and 712 CB's are awesome. I'm a 5 HP and I would say I cam hit it on a sliver dollar and still hit the green. They have a ton of forgiveness combined with a classic look

Really?  So why are you a 4hc?   Do you have no short game?  I'm curious.........LOL

I don't mean to bust your chops, but something isn't passing he sniff test.   If you strike the ball that well, you must have no game beyond the full iron shots to be a 4hc.

    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
    • Day 128 12-18 Worked on rotation and getting to lead side. Still working on the flow feeling while doing that. Recorded swings.
    • IMO-the only thing entertaining was the relay race. Everything else was excruciatingly boring...or just  stupid, like the 14-club thing. Watching guys blade wedges into the water over and over is not at all interesting.
