Low lofted Hybrid.

So, I had my best round of the season thus far, and I was striping my hybird, however I was inconssistent with the driver (natch). I was wondering is there a lower lofted hybrid? Or should I just cut a couple more inches of the driver? What do you guys thing. Currenlty it's 44.5".

If you're hitting your hybrids that well,  why not just tee off with one you have,  and leave yourself a little longer  (but hopefully in the fairway)  approach shot?

Adams makes a 1h that's 15*, both the Super Hybrid and Pro A12 come in 15*.  They also have a 2h that's 17* as does other hybrid manufacturers.

hit the 18* nike hybrid at golfsmith the other day and it feels pretty good. for me it was easier to hit than most hybrids that are under 20*. they're tough to get in the air if your not a good ball striker which i am not the best at

My Nickent 3DX rc 2H 17* is my go to club ,cannot play a bad shot with it....PS.you should get those things in your avatar looked at,they look painful.

I think you would be an excellent ball striker to get the distances you stated in your other thread.

I have a 16* hybrid and have used a 14* hybrid, but off a tee a modern driver is even easier to hit. Any issues you have are probably related to the length of the club, so the first thing I'd try is gripping up a couple inches on your driver.

Are you inconsistent with your current driver, or all drivers? With a 7.0 PX.S shaft, you don't get much margin of error for launching the ball. What loft is the head? Lee Westwood went to an 11* loft driver last year so he could shape the ball better. And, just what do you mean by inconsistent ?

With your driver specs, I assume you have high clubhead speed and good distance. Any chance you could just dump the driver and hit the 3W off the tee?

I play the TaylorMade R11 hybrids, and the 2H is 16° in the stock position, and can be adjusted to either 15° or 17°.  I have it at 16.5°, which also closes the face 1°.  I use it in place of a fairway metal.  Easy to hit off the tee, and just as easy to hit out of the fairway or rough.

I want to say it's more like I feel like I need a different driver swing compared to my other swings. I could use the three wood but there's this thing called pride..... Perhaps you've heard of it.

I suggest you consider a 76 or 86 gram x flex Proforce V2. You like your hybrid, which has that same shaft. It's about 60-80 bucks and super low torque; many really long hitters have used it and it can hold up to a hard swing. May be a bit easier to load than the PX and should certainly hit somewhat higher but it's still a low spin shaft.

Most importantly, the heavier weight should make you a bit more comfortable, maybe bump up the swingweight. A Callaway driver is really long off the shelf, cutting it down to 44.5 might give you a high to mid C weight if you don't make compensations.

I noticed you put x300s in your irons and maybe a bit of weight can help you accelerate smoothly through the ball. I noticed I swing my 80g, 45" driver a lot faster and better than my 44.5 with a 60g. I feel like I have more resistance with the heavier one and can apply force the whole way from a stable hitting position. Since you hit your irons at D8, I wouldn't have your driver at C6 or so.

I have a cobra S2 that I Was thinking about shafting with a Proforce v2 95. as well as my fairway. I was going to re shaft my Wedges first thought for lower what amounts to half the cost. I could use y 3h of the tee if I need to and still put up 260- 270 which is better than shanking my drives  I have cut the driver down and it is light. I am thinking maybe going to 43.5

I have an Adams V3 4 hybrid that is just money, I really want to get something in the 19* range or maybe just a bit lower.
