best stand bag?

im still using my first golf bag (walter hagen stand bag) and im starting to realize how terrible it is. i bought that bag before i even started playing golf and didn't know what to look for in a bag. the club dividers suck and my grips get stuck on them when i try to pull a club out. the legs get stuck on the metal bars 80% of the time. the pockets are so small and i have to use the apparel pocket to put my stuff in.

name a good stand bag at a decent price. i don't want to spend over $150. i have looked at some of the ogio bags and i didn't feel too good about them.

I bought a cart and needed to get a bag to replace my nicklaus set one. I got a callaway Matrix xtt for 90 at costco. I really like it and it fits on my speed cart nicely.

If money werent and object it would have been the SCB deluxe from sun mountain, theyre incredible.

I agree with the endorsement of Sun Mountain bags. I've had a Sun Mountain cart bag for about 8 years and still love it. This weekend I actually treated myself to a Father's Day present and ordered the Sun Mountain Superlight stand bag (weighs only 3.5lbs).

Color selection is a little limited on the reduced price bags, but if you're not picky you can get a real good stand bag for about $100. Few of the club manufacturers make their own bags. Although they have input, most contract with other companines. Having said that I bought a Callaway bag because I like the XTT stand. I have owned Sun Mountain bags also and found them to be terrific. End of season or pre season sales usually offer large discounts. A fine bag can be had for $80.00 to $100.00. Look for one that has the features you like and weighs 5 pounds or less.

I agree that the Ping Hoofer is a great stand bag. I was checking these out, but opted for the Sun Mountain Superlight based largely on price. I'm not sure how much the "Extreme" costs, but the Hoofer Vantage I was looking at was $170. This is a little pricey for a small stand bag. Plus, Ping doesn't allow stores to offer discounts on their merchandise. I picked up the Sun Mountain online at Golfsmith. It retails for $140, but I had a 15% off coupon, so it cost me only $119.
