So I am at the stage right now where my swing feels effortless and I'm still crushing the ball. I felt that my swing however is smoother but also slow at the same time, yet my golf friend told me that it looks very very fast. I changed my transition from the top and used a lot more body rotation recently. So it almost feels as if I'm swinging a wrecking ball on a chain with the driver and 3 wood. At the end of the day, I feel like I can go for another round. 1. How is this possible? How come I feel slow yet I hit my driver 326yds 2x and average 290 ish today? And so you have a better idea, I use the diamana ahina for shaft. 2. I felt that I hit my 3 wood off the tee almost like hitting a driver. So should I hit down more if the ball is on the fairway? 3. I've been playing with sand bunker shots, so tell me if I'm wrong... For bunker distance control, Open the club face more for shorter distance and not so much if you need to carry the ball further. Is this correct? So far, this has worked for me. 4. I play a 9* driver, is it true that a 10.5* is MUCH more forgiving in terms of left to right misses? I know this is a lot of questions, but if you can give any tips and confirmations, it would be great. This is all based on my game last week Andy the weekend.

No one to help me with my questions?

PS: today I went out to play, but it was 100 degrees and no clouds... I became disconnected, arms activate and I can't rotate my hips... missed a lot of shots.

Any advice on playing under the sun with such heat? It was really tough to focus and maintain complete balance and swing

Sorry, but I have no experience with a 326 yard drive.

As for the 100 degree days that's the norm around here.  Just hydrate and get electrolytes (Gatorade is my preference) and protein in you before you play and keep hydrating the entire time that you're on the course.  It takes a lot of energy to swing a golf club as many times as I do.   Stay in the shade when it's not your turn to hit.  Use sunscreen, at least SPF15.  Anything higher just doesn't protect much if any better.

What questions? How can you go from awesome to super mega awesome? offs

1. You had a tail wind and hard fairways?

2. As your ball is not on a tee, you should hit more down the same amount as you normally tee the ball up so that you hit the ball in the same spot.

3. No, you should take this way that is working well for you and throw it out and instead use some method you hear of on the internet.

4. Yes, but it's MUCH less forgiving on right to left misses so you have to decide which way you'd prefer to miss.

Sorry alot of us here are a little slow.  When you get above 2 we have a hard time.

1.  Better sequencing = more lag = heavier hit = ball go far

2.  Sweep the ball on the fairway

3. yes...  Different ways to do it but, that one works also.

4.  More loft helps but, I would play what gives you the better ball flight in terms of height.   Not that huge of a difference in 1.5 degree

Thank you very much, guys.

This helps a lot. I'll try both your suggestions and go with what works best for me.

Answers:

1.)

2.)  Yes you should hit down more on a ball not resting on a tee.

3.) Opening the face up on your wedge and taking the same swing should sends the ball higher and shorter. Is there any reason this would not work? Poor impact position?

4.) All else being equal, more lift creates more backspin. Does this make it less likely to slice? In theory, but it possibly has more time in the air to drift right.

1. Yea, I guess this is the right way then...

PS: I just got back from a tourney and I won the long drive contest.  319 yds.

2. Ok, 3 Wood = hit down. Will try that next time

3. No, so far it has been working for me and I was just wondering if there is a better way or if I should stick with it, since I discover this on my own.

4. So a 9* driver's difference with the 10.5 * is just ball trajectory? No more or less forgiveness for hooks / fades?

    • I agree with @dennyjones, a suspension of some meaningful duration would be better than getting bounced from the Tour. They might consider experimenting each week. It might generate a bit of interest. I like the idea of a visible shot clock. If a player and their caddy can’t decide on a strategy and pull the trigger in XX seconds (30? 45? 60?), one stroke penalty. Give each player 2 resets a round. The clock starts when the last player to hit’s ball stops moving. Other pace ideas could be used every couple events until a consensus is reached to adopt or ditch an idea.
