Here are the standing after 2 rounds of stroke play

http://www.usga.org/ChampEventScore.aspx?id=17179869326&year;=2012&type;=stroke

Starting at 7am (MDT) there will be a 17 for 14 playoff, going off 10 tee at Cherry Hills

And here maybe the longest par 3 in USGA championship competition history

Per the article (below) there were 8 birdies in stroke play....and I'm sure that at altitude it only plays at about 242 yards

Ahh Cherry Hills, in my hometown. I was gonna go see a round or two, but just got back from Vacation, so I'm busy with other things.

Should be pretty exciting though. And John Elway is trying to bring back a PGA Tour event there. Since The International at Castle Pines closed up shop a few years ago. Thanks to Tiger. I don't know why, but he never liked it here. But Phil absolutley loves the stableford scoring system. He won it 3 times.

8th hole at Oakmont. And it's not even played at much elevation like Colorado.

Roll Tide.

Roll Tide indeed.  I was in school when Dicky Pride and Jason Bohn were on the team.  It's amazing how much the program has improved since then.  The upgrade in facilities has made a big difference, but both the men and women are light years ahead of where they were two decades ago.

I was down there 98-03 and it's light years ahead of then for sure. I had a couple of friends who were scratch to maybe a 2 handicap who were basically recruited walk-ons. They'd consistently dominate the old university course - it was bad and easy. Those two guys couldn't get anywhere near the Bama team now, they wouldn't even be given a look. (And they were great golfers) And the facilities, like you said, are so much improved.

It's amazing how far college golf as a whole has come in the last 10 years or so.
