May not be the right place to post but if it is not, just move it to the right place please.

Been playing since May/June and have had moderate success out on the course this summer.  My lowest score to this point is an 85 on a fairly easy course. I just read the Stack and Tilt book and have also just signed up with the Evolvr crew.  I am excited as I have decided to get serious about my golfing and see where it can take me.  I know there may be a few of you on the fence about Evolvr or obviously Stack and Tilt.  I plan to keep a small update on my progress and hopefully, it all goes well, it will give you indications that the system doesn't work.  If things don't go well, I will be more inclined to says it is just user error rather than a faulty system.

Sorry for ramble but excited to be able to pursue this game I love in a better manner!

Good luck - hope all goes well. I've been SnT for about 3 years and not looking back. Haven't taken evolr lessons yet but want to in the future. keep us posted on your progress.

Evolvr is no joke, they flat out will improve your game. My swing has improved a ton, with a lot more distance. If you put in the time and focus on what they tell you, you will improve. For me, I could only do it for one month because I was going back to school. Anyways, I remembered a lot of what my instructor said and it really improved my swing. It feels like I pure my shot every time I hit it.

I also signed up yesterday after reading only very positive reviews on Evolvr. I'm very curious where this gets me! My copy of stack and tilt is also on its way. I will let you know how my experiences are.

S&T; is a safe way of making sure the student swings on a steady axis where the spine angle remains stable. Using the conventional swing, golfers are so obsessed with weight transfer and backswing positions that they don't maintain a stable spine axis. With proper instruction we could all achieve similar conditions to S&T; but stick to the conventional swing. BTW, why do very few tour pros use S&T;?

My guess is you answered your own question. For the most part they are able to achieve similar conditions via a traditional swing.

So the tour pros do use S&T; just different to the directions of the book.

I personally think they would be with me on this one...

"Weight over the target foot on the backswing is just unnatural and less efficient."

SloverUT,

Evolvr is excellent.  It is not really S&T;, but their own method.  Read the Five Simple Keys thread in the Swing Thoughts section.  Also, be patient with yourself and your improvement.  Some things will come fast and others take longer.

Don't limit your videos to just irons and driver swings.  I also did short game chipping and pitching, sand shots and putting.  They are very helpful with that as well.

Lastly, learn to relax when taking video of yourself.  It took me a while to just swing normally when taking video trying to hit a perfect shot.  I got more from sending video of the off swings than the good ones.

Thanks for the advice.  So far in the first 2 videos, I sent 2 Iron shots.  But I did take your advice on sending "off swings" or at least I did not go through looking for the absolute best of my videos.  Depending on how it goes and how long I can afford to keep going, I do plan to send in examples of pitches/chips etc.

I've done some reading on 5SK but have not gotten the DVD's as of yet (Maybe Xmas present).  Either way, I am hoping that to this point I haven't had time to develop such bad habits that it takes forever to make the changes.  However, I am prepared for my game to get worse possibly before it gets better!

So I got my first response back and it overall was a pretty good swing I suppose.  My feet were to straight at setup, elbows spread to much, and hips not moving forward enough.  He also changed my grip.  Went to the range a couple times and saw a lot of improvement right off the bat in my ball striking.  Also, went to the course today, and shot my lowest score to date with an 84.  I think a lot of this was due just to the grip change as I haven't made the other changes muscle memory.  Regardless, I am very happy with my first feedback and looking forward to more down the line.

    • I agree with @dennyjones, a suspension of some meaningful duration would be better than getting bounced from the Tour. They might consider experimenting each week. It might generate a bit of interest. I like the idea of a visible shot clock. If a player and their caddy can’t decide on a strategy and pull the trigger in XX seconds (30? 45? 60?), one stroke penalty. Give each player 2 resets a round. The clock starts when the last player to hit’s ball stops moving. Other pace ideas could be used every couple events until a consensus is reached to adopt or ditch an idea.
