Snake just informed me that cancellation fees are prorated for SPRINT. So I would only have to pay less then 100 bucks to get out of my contract. iPhone here I come!

Is the new iPhone still going to have WiFi or are they going to get rid of that feature because it is 3G now...

It'll have WiFi, yeah. I don't care what they say: 3G isn't as fast as WiFi, and it's nowhere near as ubiquitous (particularly inside your own house or office

).

Did you really have a hard time with 3G inside buildings? I've had no problems with signal in buildings, 3G or otherwise.

Meh. I'm gonna keep my 1st gen iPhone.

To be honest, I'm not too impressed with the 3g iPhone.

I'd get me one if they weren't so expensive. I'd want one, but I'm it's only a phone. Currently I have a seperate iPod Video 60GB and a seperate very simple 3-button (call, text and on/off, more I don't need!) Nokia 6310 telephone. In other words: I'll only get when I find a good deal or when one of those I already have break down.
Then I'd need the 3G since I live in Europe.

You know the new one is $199, right?

Yeah but the data service is $30 a month instead of $20 now. It's $35 if you want text messages. $30X24 months brings the price back up to the old one when it was introduced.

Dumbest phone to hit the market....unless you don't own a camera, mp3 player, or have the internet. All those Mac lovers who like "neato, cool" lookings gadgets are the only ones buying them.

Drink your Starbucks, drive your Prius, and talk on your iPhone.

Or you could just be a hater like Yogi. Your post doesn't even merit a response beyond this.

P.S. I don't drink coffee and I drive two SUVs. But you know what they say about those who make assumptions or gross generalizations.

I use Windows PCs, drive a Porsche, think Starbucks tastes burnt and love my iPhone. Nice generalizations.

Three days until the iPhone 3G is release. I'll be picking one up Friday. Anyone else? The only differences with the new phone are the faster network and GPS. Reviews have started to come out. You can check out Gizmodo's summary of three reviews below:

Only reason I'm getting one is if the wife wants the old one. I'd say that's about a 50/50 chance.

I have to wonder about those who are replacing their previous models... although the previous models can still be hacked or "jailbroken" and will work (kind of) on other carriers, while the 3G, not so much.

I'm much more interested in the App Store and the 2.0 OS. Erie doesn't have 3G and probably won't get it until the year 3K.

When is the app store and 2.0 OS coming? Same day as the 3G iPhones come out (11th I believe)?

The main reason I'm getting the new iPhone is that I dropped my current one and cracked the screen. Now the bottom section of the touchscreen doesn't work. Makes it tough to use, all though not complete impossible.

If my old iPhone wasn't broken, I'm not sure if I'd upgrade. Although I think they've held their re-sale value, since the new ones will require a contract. Make it harder to buy, crack and sell.

Regarding AppStore and 2.0, yeah I think it'll go live the same day.

Are people lining up in front of stores all around the country like the first one or should it be pretty easy to walk in to AT&T; in the morning, buy one and walk out without a huge line or hour wait?

    • I get kidney stones. So 100 oz of water every day. Some nights I drink 32oz between midnight and 6 Am. Which means I dont sleep much.
    • 46 (9 over) Short game and putts were awful!
    • 46+40 for an 86. I just need to play 9 holes on the range before each round. 🤣🤣🤣
    • I don’t measure my intake either. I generally have a black coffee, a bottle of soda, some sweet tea at home, and anything in between is water. An ice cold bottle of water is one of my favorite things. It feels like an immediate refresher for my body. I’ll admit that I need to drink a little more though.
    • For such a nice membership, there have been some bad incidents in the past few years.  We had someone voted out a couple of years ago over something he did and he harassed the board members for three months until he moved out of the area.   Generally they’ve tried to do things like tournament handicaps and identify certain people who they know should be lower and adjust it somehow.  I can understand not wanting to go thru something like the guy who was voted out again i emailed the pro who forwarded it to the handicap committee.  They are going to see what can be done.  I walked someone thru what happened and they are going to nudge him to post the score from the match and see what he does.  Since he didn’t put anything in the electronic scoring past 13, based on how he played 14 and 15 plus having to take bogey on 16-18 for after he left, he should post 83.  We’ll see if it’s even higher,   Since he was really even thru 13, then doubled 14 and parred 15 my guess is he really shot 75 being generous and giving him 2 pars and a bogey on the three holes he didn’t play.    i shot 88, getting 16 shots for my course handicap which is net even and I lost on 13.  We do brackets where handicaps should be within 4-5 of each other.  Most matches only have 1-2 shots as a difference between players  neither of us posted the score yet.  There was something in the match play rules about whether or not to post your score.  I couldn’t remember if we were supposed to or not.  I don’t think he was going to post that, because even with his inflated score it would be the lowest score in his recent 20. Lucky I didn’t because they want to see what he does post and they don’t want me posting so he can try to calibrate his score.
