Love that 3 wood in your profile pic.  Also that's a very fast SS.

I've no idea, no place around here has a way to check my driver swing speed. I assume it's over 100 but not sure. I'm about 5'11" 150 lbs. I am around 105 or so with my 52 degree wedge but that's just an estimate based on video analysis.

Just had it checked at Golfsmith while on vacation. Number came up in the simulator at an average of 105. Carry at about 240. Launch angle @13*. The tech and I figured I was losing some distance in the real world because I was teeing it up too high. 52 Y.O., 6'1" @ 210... playing for almost 40 years.

I've never taken notice of mine but if I had to guess it would be mid 80's.  Feels very slow but it works just fine for me.

I am 5'8" barefoot  190lbs wet and carry 225-235 on average to a 240-250 roll with a high trajectory and baby fade.

Those distances are estimates.  The other day I really wound up and carried 250 to a 290 roll on a narrow straight fairway.  And played the tips that same course the other day and carried a 225 yard marsh for a 260 yd drive with a slow easy sweet spot drive.  So  I guess I swing faster when it is required.  However on an average par 4 my swing speed will be slow and I'll be looking for a 240 yd drive.  No reason to swing faster and risk missing the sweet spot etc unless the course layout requires it.

If I had to guess a lot of the people here swinging 100+ should be taking note of the ball's impact location on the face of their driver.  With all due respect.

You are underestimating your SS, mid 80's will not get you 230 carry with no tail wind, and no other big contributing factors. You're probably around 95MPH SS if you do actually carry 230 and roll 250ish.

Hahaha yeah. This has become very similar to the Average Distance thread.

Hmmm... I must need some serious work... trackman tells me that my ss is consitant at 77mph.. I have been working on my swing speed for the recent month, but at the age of 29, 5'10, 175lbs something just doesnt add up.. I find most fairways with my driver, as I am a very straight hitter, but when I get a hold of one its usually 225 with the average of 210ish

Don't know, don't much care. It ain't gonna get any better anyhow and being able to get out 220 - 240 yds consistently at age 71 is not bad. Short game is good, have trouble in hitting GIR though, not sure why. I can hit a decent drive but approach shots have accuracy problems, length is okay . If I had to guess at ss, I would say low 90's

    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
    • Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
