Just beat Ohio to finish the regular season 11-1. Best record in their 90-year history. Going to a bowl for the first time since 1972 (when they had a LB by the name of Jack Lambert).

GO FLASHES!!!!

^^^ That's Dri Archer. He's fast.

Looks like you guys will get NIU in the MAC championship.  Should be a good game.  I grew up about 30 minutes north of the NIU campus and that program is no joke.

New England would like to thank Kent State for sending Julian Edelman to the Pats.  He is becoming a excellent player.  If the team plays like him, they should be fun to watch.

Zip, where is the game?  Are you going?

And Pittsburgh would like to that KSU for James Harrison. The Browns for Josh Cribbs. The Chargers for Antonio Gates. Edelman was QB for Kent (as was Cribbs). Hell, Gates didn't even play football - he was on the basketball team.

If they win the MAC Championship, I don't know if that's an automatic bowl tie-in game. At the OU game there were reps from a couple of the bowls. Even if NIU beats them, they're 11-2 & will go somewhere.

We got two bowls here in Orlando. That would be epic if they came here...and ironic, since their last bowl game was the Tangerine Bowl in 1972...in Orlando.

Will they really still go if NIU beats them?  I mean, they play in the MAC; so its not as if their strength of schedule is all that good.

It'd be very hard to ignore an 11-2 team regardless of the conference they'e in.

I always like to cheer for the little guy, and Kent St has had a great season, but I'm hearing talk about them possibly making a BCS game under the new rules, based on them (or NIU depending on who wins) being in the top 16 and the Big East winner not?  As outstanding of a season as they've had, a team that got crushed by a team as bad as Kentucky has no business in a BCS game.

Well, you have a point, especially given that NIU only lost by a point to a Big Ten school (Iowa) in their first game. In that 'Beauty Contest' the edge goes to NIU.

So we will see who wins the MAC Championship. If it's NIU, they got a great shot at a BCS bowl, perhaps the Orange Bowl. If it's Kent, I really don't think the loss to Kentucky will matter much. They'll be ranked top-16, and their winning streak will be 11 games, including a win over ranked Rutgers at Rutgers.

Yep, at this point the Kentucky loss is just that, a loss, nobody cares who it was to.  If they win I don't see how they won't be in a BCS game, just another example of how F'd up the BCS is when a team (just as an example) of LSU's caliber could be left out and Kent St can get in.  Bring on a real playoff system please!

Sorry as I'm sure this is coming across as me bashing Kent in your thread celebrating their season, which you absolutely should be.  I was just blown away when I realized this scenario was likely to happen.

Nice try, Kent State.  I told you not to sleep on NIU.  Theyre for real.

LOL...probably the IDontGiveARatsAss.com Bowl.

Honestly, not sure. Gotta see how other games play out.

Okay, I just checked. If NIU doesn't get inside the top 16 (and thus a BCS bid), they will play in the GoDaddy.com bowl in Mobile & Kent will go to the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl in Detroit. If NIU gets a BCS bid, Kent will go to Mobile.

    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
