Which set do you recommend: JPX800 Pro or JPX825 Pro ?

Well, I hope it clarifies a little bit. English is not my mother tongue so I can get quite confusing with my explanations.

You make complete sense.  Some people just feel the need to always tell other people they aren't good enough to play X clubs and others feel the need to step in set them straight.  Its a sideshow that repeats itself on every thread where people ask about buying a particular set of clubs.

I was trying to decide between JPX Pros and i20s, and was also looking to see whether I could save money by getting the 800's instead of the 825's.  I never compared them side by side, but the look of the 800s didn't bother me and they felt just as nice.  Everything I read says the only real difference is looks.  So it comes down to whether the difference in looks is enough to justify the price difference.  Nobody can really help you with that one, unfortunately.

In my googling, I found a much bigger price difference.

Looks is always very subjective. JPX800 pro look a bit thicker but still very nice to me so it would not be a deal breaker.

Is the shaft so important ???

If so, I may not have that much choice dependig on the fitting results. JPX800 Pro only come with Dynalite Gold XP while JPX825 Pro have several shaft options.

From the clubs I tested, I noticed the NS pro 950 gh shaft felt really nice but the others were not "bad".

As living in Europe, I am looking on UK websites to avoid paying extra custom fees. Could it be that Mizuno is cheaper in Europe ?

I dont know about the price differences across the ocean, but on ebay here the 800s are cheaper.

I think the shaft is very important.

On ebay, I just purchased a a set (5 -GW) of JPX800pro irons with Project X 4.5 graphite shafts for $350. They are little used in excellent condition.  I haven't had a chance to play them yet, but the feel is fantastic.  I did hit balls in an About Golf simulator.  My distances seemed to be shorter than with my Caloway Razr X's, but accuracy seemed better.  The jury is out until we get out on the golf course.

Anyway, the point is you do have more options on shafts.

comparing distances, always be sure to check the lofts.  not all 7 irons are the same loft, one companys 6 iron might have the same loft as anothers 5.

Well, yea, I know the shafts are shorter on the JPX's than the Calloway's.  I don't know about the lofts.

Yeah, that's cool and makes sense. Despite what some think I was just curious because I am also a 20 and just recently got the regular 825s. For me, I was hitting a "tour iron" and found them to be a little too unforgiving. I liked how I hit the 825s and the price was right for me. I didnt even really consider the pros. Hope you enjoy your new sticks whatever you chose.

I just went through the task of finding replacements for my PCB Tour MacGregors.  I have some MP-14s and MP Grads as well -- I know all older sets.  I needed more forgiveness as I don't play as much as I used to, and was looking to update my irons as far as technology.  I hit both the 900 pro and 925 pro back to back.  I could see a slight difference in club head size, sole grind, badges, and topline thickness, but not enough for twice the price difference between new 825 pros vs hardly hit, used 800 pros. I hit them the same distances as well. So I went with the 800 pros.  I might add that I also did the Mizuno shaft optimizer first to find out that I was great fit for the stock XP S300.  I will be getting my clubs this Friday.

If you are left handed, it's an easy decision.....you aren't getting any "Pro's", and that really sucks!

I just took out a set of used jpx800 pros Monday for a test round bought them on the spot (had been swooning over some 825 pros with blue graphite shafts looked great as I tried them in another store on the mat with all the monitors, ect.) went out yesterday with the 800's again shot 5+. I know this is not much help I very satisfied with the 800's if I get some extra money ............ (Blue shafts ???)
