Need suggestions for a new shaft!

I have a Titlest905r with a Nunchuk shaft. My drives i carry around 240-250, but get 3 yards of roll. My drives look like a bird being shot out of the sky, they just nose dive!!! With this shaft I'm getting alot of back spin. I thought it was my swing, AoA and all that jazz. No matter what I do I get 4000+ rpm and a 18* launch. So I'm going to experiment with some new shafts. Any suggestions? Brand? Model?

I've heard good things about the Xcalibur shafts from Arthur Xtreme... they are sold exclusively through Golf Works and are very reasonable at about $50... I think I'm actually going to get one to check out myself.

What loft is the head? The nunchuk isn't usually considered high spinning, especially at 100+ grams. 905r isn't a low spinning head at all, so a different head would probably reduce the spin a lot, especially with a lower loft. Also, what ball do you play? That can add a couple hundred rpm as well, so adjust your expectations accordingly.

You have a nearly 300 dollar shaft, yet play almost a decade old head. Consider selling the shaft if you don't like it and use the money towards a whole new driver if need be. Lots of guys play that exact shaft at 44 inches or shorter, so pulls should go for good money.

If you can hit the nunchuk straight, which most people like about it, then try experimenting with a low spin head at lower lofts.

What would you suggest for a head? I really like the 905r and I hit the Nunchuk straight. Just want better flight. I think the Nunchuk is 44 or 45 inches. Seems any ball I hit has done it. I will agree with the above poster about that shaft I've yet to here a bad thing about it. I could give you shaft tips (rombax, speeder tour spec 6.2,whiteboard), but its really personal as to how much money you want to spend and on top of other factors. As for looking for a new head (better option IMO), you can find some really good deals. Cleveland Classic 290 got a ton props last year for being a very low spin head, Adams Fast 12 LS (I have one I'd sell ya), titleist 910 D3 a couple years old but still good (I don't think they changed the 910 to 913 other than paint job)

I guess maybe I will just get a new setup and keep this one as a back up? I don't know. I had heard a club head with a high CG will produce more spin than a lower CG head. Any truth to that?

May not want to hear this, but it's unlikely that any shaft change is going to do much for you. The Nunchuk is already very tip stiff and the most likely reason for your issues is technique, not equipment. It's near certain -- given what you describe -- that you are letting the club head pass your hands right around impact, which adds dynamic loft to the club face and raises your launch angle and backspin. If this is the case, changing shafts and even coming down in loft on your driver head will do little to change your launch conditions. You'll have to work on getting your hands ahead and getting the shaft leaning slightly forward (or, at least, not backwards) through the ball to make a dent in your spin and trajectory problems.

i have pretty similar numbers to you and just switched to a prolaunch red with great results.  low spinning and low launch, although even with an 8.5 degree head i still put a pretty good mid to high launch on it, just now there is much less spin.
