Had a fun round. All I had to do was two putt the last hole for my first 35. Yep I three putted. In my defense though I essentially play on fun house greens. I will start a thread about that in a bit. Had a couple fun close calls as well. Near pitch in: Near hole in one:

Nice to have a break though every once in a while, even from golf.

2 but I didn't play the week prior and I'm going to Boston on a work conference the day I get home from vacation. Trying to set up a round in Boston with Jamo and Boogie but I don't know if my schedule will allow for it.

Now, back to our regular scheduled program.

Shot 40 this morning and had a case of the pushes.  Hit the driver very well save for one hole that I just hit it through the fairway which ran out to a hazard.  So in light of hitting into a hazard and only hitting two greens I think the recovery efforts were pretty good.  Putted better as well.  I am waiting for my new Odyssey #7 pro to arrive though.  I stayed internally positive and confident throughout the round which is a plus for me.  I usually panic and fall apart when I start playing and something is off a bit.   Regardless, key 5 was off with the irons even though I struck every shot cleanly. I am thinking it is just what GD and I were talking about a few weeks ago were you are extending too much too early.  I will hit the range today, work on my lesson stuff and I am sure it will be cleaned up.

I hear you, I get a case of the pushes occasionally. It's funny, because it usually happens on the same day I'm pulling my drives.

Staying confident is hard to do, so good on you for being able to do that.

It is tough to do.  I can stay calm externally but internally, I might be blowing up.  I have to give some props to my new evolvr instructor Brian though.  Because along with the swing instruction he has been teaching me some great things on the mental side of the game as well.  I am not really going to get into all that because the advice was really tailored only for me.  But suffice it to say, the 40 I shot today is in some ways more of a positive sign than the two 36 scores I shot this earlier week.

That's how you have to look at it.

I shot a 48 last night, which was far from my best score, but I was extremely happy with it because I didn't make a ton of mistakes, it was just a combo of me not having a driver at the moment, and it's rained here the past 16 days besides yesterday, so everything was wet and overgrown, including the greens.

I'd kill for your 40 though. Haha.

Until you start shooting 40's.  Then you would kill for 36's, and then 34's and so on. That is what keeps it fun.

Working on my lesson stuff.  No more pushes.  Trying to improve the hips so we can fix my key 1 2 3 4 and 5 issues. Just keeping the right hip deeper(against the wall) and allowing the hips to open through impact.  Hitting a few shots on the toe, which should be a good sign.

(edit: Video does not seem to be working yet hopefully it works soon)

Improving the hips into A6.

Your swing looks nice, but I'm more jealous of the beard.

And wtf is with that green. Haha.

I don't know WTF is wrong with the video.  Not sure why it is playing the one I uploaded yesterday with the greens.  It shows like it is the video with the swing and then it switches to the greens video.  Those greens are pretty crazy though.  And yeah I have been rockin' the beard for years now.  I have gotten so used to it that can't see getting rid of it anytime soon.

Tee marks on Hunter's driver compared to mine. First I must admit I "borrowed" this photo about Hunter's driver I believe from Mike so props to Mike. Also I don't think I will be seeing any "dime sized sweet spots" on any of my clubs, any time soon. LOL!

    • Wordle 1,652 X/6* 🟨⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 Yup - one of those Wordle moments….
    • The term I hear most often is "double teeing" which means the course/club has starting times from both the #1 and #10 tee.  I have encountered this many times and we know if we are the first group off #10, we may well get to #1 and have to wait because there are groups still with tee times yet to tee of #1.  In most instances, where the course/club has a starter, he normally explains this situation.  In this case, the pro advised what you would could/would encounter making the turn to #1.  And, that is exactly what happened.  Probably would have been wise to talk to the pro after playing back 9 and ask when you could go off #1 since apparently that club does not double tee.   Regardless, the outburst towards the other group was uncalled for.  And, I don't blame the member for being upset.  As a member of a private club, you are responsible for the actions of your guest.  I have played many times as a guest in the UK and I am pretty damn sure my host was responsible for my actions while at the club.  I know at the clubs I have belonged to here in the US, that is the way it is.  As a matter of fact, the member may find himself being brought before management and facing possible suspension.  So, I don't blame him for being upset.  However, as the host, he really should have stepped up and put a stop to the OP's actions.  OP makes this statement "I now understand that standards are different on the "private course." But I'll take those lessons to the muni, too."  No, the standards are not different.  You, sir, seem to be just a bit hard headed and belligerent, even if you are college professor...which possibly explains a lot.   JMHO
    • Day 32: worked for about 10 minutes on my drill. Filmed it as well for a check in. I think it’s slightly better but still seeing some issues.
    • Day 44 (26 Dec 25)  -  played in the Friday men’s shootout with a twist - used the Toney Penna persimmons and MacGregor blades - had a blast playing these clubs.  They really help in zoning in on making solid ball contact.  Scoring was solid - had several looks at birdie and had a few par saves.  Overall a day of focused course management.
    • Day 2: 2025.12.27 Eighteen holes at Kauri Cliffs. Focusing on trying to keep flex in right leg during backswing.
