my friends are clueless. they have no idea how to match and then they wonder why the coach yells at them. one time, my friend showed up to a practice round with blue and green shorts (vertical stripes) and a yellow and navy polo (horizontal stripes) and got yelled at for the rest of the week. needless to say, that outfit never came out again

I usually just wear a pair of cargo shorts and a polo shirts. I don't tend to dress crazy on the course, at least to me it isn't. I have a lime green shirt and a orange shirt I wear sometimes, but do not consider them to be crazy colors, and no i do not think the way you dress is that much of an intimidation factor.

On a side not has anyone tried the Bubba Watson clothing line. If so what did you think of it? Here is a link to it: http://www.bubbawatson.com/product.html

Hey, that's well said. I like frame of mind you are trying to create. Confidence is

Thanks - I agree completely about confidence; "I'm placing this ball on the green", rather than "I have to avoid the right OB".

Yeah me either. i had not been in a while and happened to be in the mall yesterday and decided to go in, and they had a big display with Bubba Watson on it. Most of the shirts looked pretty nice, except for a few i did not care for. To get a moisture wicking shirt like that for $15 is impossible. I might have to give them a try. I will say that the shorts looked a little strange the way they were made, material mostly.

I think I'm going to have to pick up some Bubbawear sometime soon!

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

this may sound really weird but its just something I do: I never wear shorts. When I play, no matter how hot it is, I always wear a pair of black or khaki microfiber Izod golf pants. I picked them up for 14.99 each at a TJ Maxx, they are money.

I went to TJ Maxx today and it was pretty cool, I had been there before though. But they do have some cheap prices...

TJ Maxx is a good store to find some really good deals, but on the other hand you have to be there at the right time. I have gone in there before and looked around for about 30 min and not found a thing, then you can go in there the next week and find all kinds of stuff. That is the only thing that I do not like about TJ Maxx. If you like going to TJ Maxx then another place you might want to check out, if you have one in your area, is Marshalls. They are owned by the same company and are pretty much the same as far as finding deals go.

Yes! Confidence and focusing on positives. Simply using that type of thinking you should be better than your current handicap in no time!

I never wear jeans on the golf course and frankly I think If I ever ran a Golf Club I wouldn't let others wear them on my course.

I do like to dress nice for golf, it gives me a sense of professionalism (like how it does in other aspects of life) -- it is mainly for myself, and not to intimidate others.

My favorite golf outfit usually consists of clothes from Polo or Brooks Brothers. A nice white Brooks Brothers polo and some sky blue shorts of theirs are my favorite golf outfit, sometimes I wear khaki pants with a pink polo or dark blue etc.

Golfing always seemed more natural in pants, the fact that golf shoes seem very big and outlandish to me make me feel more comfortable if they are semi hidden by pants.

I have also found that I golf better in traditional colors, like a dark blue or white polo, as opposed to the magenta or lime green shirts I like to go golfing in.

My favorite golf outfit that seems very professional and one that you would find on tour is some cuffed khakis with a dark blue polo and a cap. I usually shoot my best when I'm wearing that, I don't know why, can't explain it, it may be pure psychology.

You guys are right, some of the Bubba Wear shirts look nice. I wonder what the fit is like. Bubba is far bigger a dude than I am.

yeah thats the only downfall of TJ's... hit or miss shopping. I have a lot of golf clothes but recently I've been getting into collecting mocks and TJ's always has 2-3 nice mocks when I look in their clearance section. I haven't paid over 14.99 for my mocks, I have some Nickalaus, Nike, Adidas, and a rare Bridgestone (I have never seen a Bridgestone clothing line)

Honestly I usually wear a baggy pair of cargo shorts and a plain white tee from Gap. Some days I feel classy and go with a Polo. Comfort is my main thing. I don't care if I look like a high school drop out. I play at public courses for less than $20, to hell with impressing people. Although I must say I have never worn jeans and don't ever plan to. I draw the line there.

    • Yes. If you choose to take the ball out of the bunker instead of taking maximum available relief… it costs a stroke.
    • I got another one today....Number 17. Par 5 that has water left and right on the layup. I smacked a drive down the left side and got a little lazy on the layup and fanned my 6 iron. With 112 to a crowned green I got it to 3 feet and birdie!  Only 5 and 15 is left for this year!
    • Maybe I didn’t explain this properly. Back and front can be confusing.  There was no place in the bunker that didn’t have 2-3 inches of rain water in it, except for a small spot on the slope nearest the pin. If I had dropped there I would be moving 6-7 feet closer to the hole. Since my ball was just inside the bunker, farthest side from the hole, I dropped one club length backward, which brought me out of the bunker. I could not have hit from that deep of water. Are you saying I would have had to take a penalty stroke due to rain water?
    • Day 550, May 5, 2024 Got a good hour in with a typical (for me) two-stick setup: pool noodle angled in front, yardstick on the ground angled 45° behind me.
    • Day 130: Cinco de Mayo Day 7/24 of Full Speed Spectrum training. Difficult training day after struggling to certify my warmup yesterday, and today. Finished 13 mph lower than my training speed on Thursday. Hope to hit some balls today.
