Interesting lie. I kind of wonder what kind of result a low spinner would produce. For some reason I look at that lie and I'm thinking I don't want to come in shallow and catch that bark so I'd probably come in steeper and try to catch the ball clean.
I might have to replicate it sometime and try it.
Personally, I would only drop it to pick up another club or wedge if I really needed it. Dropping it, just to drop it makes little sense as it just gives you another option. Now ditching the 4 wood for a club to get you another 5-7 yards would make sense.
Shot a 49 and 45 for a 94 today. Combination of new clubs and better ball striking did it. Made some fundamental changes to my longer iron play in the fairway. My short game is decent as is, and driving is OK, too. We'll see what tomorrow brings on another course.
