As a side note, was the whole city shut down, and no one could leave their homes?? I understand precautions and all, but it doesn't seem right that a city of how many million? could be completely shut down by 2 punks. To me that's giving them too much power. JMO

A) Boston isn't as big a city as most people seem to think. Only about 625,000 people. Cambridge is another 100,000, Brookline is 60,000. I don't know if you saw any maps of what was happening today, but Watertown is just a few miles from the city, and it's a pretty quaint 32,000 people. B) This is school vacation for the entire state, so children were going to be home anyway. C) If the people didn't think there was a good reason to stay home, they wouldn't have. I know my mom was working today just 3 or 4 miles from where the second suspect was eventually found.

I was at work 20 miles north and our facility in South Boston was open but it was discretionary to go in.  If you could work from home, like the wife and brother, that is what you did.  We live about 6-7 miles from Watertown.

I don't think you will hear any complaints from anyone in the Boston area over how this was handled.

We are just relieved that it didn't go into the night.

In the beginning, seeing the incredible show of force via SWAT/NG units roaming around, I thought this as well, but then I thought about it more and how to effectively flush out a fugitive the fastest way possible and it made more sense to me, I changed my mind and thought it was the right move plus Jamo's points. Now if they didn't find suspect #2, is extending the shutdown worth it? Maybe.

My recall on Chechnya and Dagestan is spotty, I remember reading about some pretty awful things - here is an explainer (plus read the comments) about the region:

    • Day 312 - Better finishing position, fuller backswing, PRGR to see how swing speed was.
    • Going to a Friendsgiving tomorrow and I am bringing a no-bake cheesecake. I make the crust too big, but I think it turned out good. The filling is really good.
    • Sure, but how was your alignment? 🙂 Day 53 - 2024-11-22 Mirror work after getting back home. Wife is a superstar for her career/job/whatever.
    • I would say your back nine is the second nine you play that day. It's part of what makes getting some of those holes tougher. Or, if 18 holes are played pretty often, out of A, B, and C, and you often play A and C, A is the front and C is the back, regardless of the order you play them in. That way not birdieing C #7 isn't overcome by birdieing the easier A #7 on a day you played it C-A instead of A-C. But, at the end of the day, nobody really cares except yourself.
    • Day 128: played 9. Nice little even 9, with 2 birdies and 2 bogeys.
