hey everyone,

looking to get a set of blades and have narrowed my choice down to these 2 sets. which one do yous think i should go with?

Let me start by saying that both of these sets are WAY out of my league.

But g-damn those 588s are sexy irons.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

Don't think you can go wrong with either one!  Just curious, any reason you ruled out the Mizuno MP 69's?

I hit the MP 69's and found that i was losing about 5-10 metres distance and that the spin rates were way high, meaning that i was spraying them more that the cleveland 588's or titleist. but on the ones that i hit pure that felt pretty good

Both are too much club for me but if I could play either and it came down to a coin flip it'd be the 588's just because of the look.

They're both beautiful!  If I had to be nit-picky and choose one, I'd go with the Titleists.  I think the colored logo on the 588's makes them look a little less sleek.  It gives them like 0.0001% of a GI look.  (Again, being realllll nit-picky here - they both look pretty awesome)

I just recently put the 588s in the bag. They are nothing short of amazing. The set I replaced was a combo of Mizuno MX-23 (3-6) and Mizuno MP 60 (7-P). At first, I was a bit intimidated by the smaller head, but after a short stint at the range, all my concerns were firmly put to rest. These sticks are about a club 1/2 longer than my previous irons. They are responsive, lots of feedback. If i mishit one, I know exactly what I did to cause it. Let me tell you though, when you catch it clean, it's as if the club is an extension of your body. I can't get over how good these clubs feel. But here's the kicker...

I initially checked with some local retailers on prices for these things and no one would go lower than $950. So, to the interwebz I went. I browsed around and finally found a set of the combos (588 CB/MB). This was the set I initially wanted. I bid $450 on a "fine" condition set through 3ballsgolf.com and won. Well, upon receiving the irons, I realized the listing was wrong, and they sent me the full set of MBs instead. As far as the condition is concerned, I think the 8 iron was the only club that had been hit. These things were in MINT condition. I spoke with CS, and they told me to hit them and if I liked them, they would give me a partial refund or I could send them back for a full refund. Well, after putting together some buttery shots from the PW through the 6 iron, I was almost convinced these would stay in the bag. However, after i hit the 5,4,& 3 irons....all I can say is "damn."

It's simply the best iron I've ever played. I was hitting the 3 iron "on the screws" just as well as the 8 iron, carrying it nearly 235. I cannot say enough about the performance of these irons. Looks, feel, quality, etc. They pass with flying colors. Additionally, I'll be gaming a $1,000 set of sticks for less than $400. I'm stoked to say the least. I played a quick 9 yesterday and put up a 38 with two three putts here at my local club, so I can't wait to get back out there. Now, only if I could make some putts, I could be in business. I hope this was helpful for anyone considering these sticks. If you're a consistent striker, I think it's at least worth giving them a demo. Here's a pic:

    • I’d go with the Titleist if you liked the look of the blades but were suffering with distance. They should be a little more forgiving than a full blade and still retain some workability. Also remember to consider the shafts each have as this will be a big contributor to how they feel. Clemsonfan is right though… get fit or spend a bit of time on a launch monitor 🤙
    • Day 28: 2026.01.30 Managed to make time for a few swings out back today. Need a proper bit of range time this weekend.
    • Day 30, 1/30.  Six minutes this morning hitting a few more range balls, indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Did this before leaving the house.

    • Hi All my New Year’s resolution was to start playing golf again. I’ve caught the bug and am really enjoying hitting balls at a couple of my local ranges.looking forward to getting back out on courses in the spring. Based in the UK and 38 years old, I’ve been playing since I was a kid. Best handicap I’ve held is 2 in my mid 20s. Over the past 10 years I’ve played once or twice a year, sometimes with friends or for work. Could shoot 4-5 over, but just as easily shoot 15-20 over. I’ve moved to South Wales and am very lucky to be near some world class links courses, which gives me even more motivation to get playing again! I will start looking for a local coach in my area when I have more time to invest, but I recalled scouring this forum a few years ago and finding some good tips and advice so wanted to give it a try to see if there were any glaring issues I could fix in the meantime!  A few swings below… one from 1st week Jan and one from today. I have fixed my P1 takeaway to my liking and am now working on what I see as pretty severe early extension & hip thrust. Also terrible hip rotation. I’d like confirmation that this is indeed a problem and and suggestions on a few good drills. Thanks for reading 🙂 I've been Playing Golf for: 30+ years My current handicap index or average score is: 10ish over My typical ball flight is: mid The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: push right with irons, hooks and push with driver!  Videos:
