My home course has one par 4 with elevated green, heavy slope towards front and a water in the front of the green. If you are putting downhill towards the forward pin in winter time when the grass is dead outside the green and you miss the hole ---> ball in the dip. Done that in several times and that Hurts.

I must be misreading this.  You're actually bragging, and asking if anyone else has ONLY 3-putted from a short distance ONCE, right?!

Sadly it barely even causes a spike in my personal pissed-off-o'meter compared to the other silly things I can do with a golf club in my hand!

HAHA, so true. Lets see, how about this one,

3rd hole, Blackmore Golf Course, Richmond, Ohio. Par three, takes a swing, tops the ball with the back end of the heel, the ball hits the ground bounces up and hits me. Stroke 1 + Penalty :p

Lets start the game of one ups, anything you can do i can do worse :p

About 6 weeks ago I bowed up on a 3-wood on a long par 5. I topped it so badly that it went 25 feet BACKWARDS! I'm a 5 freaking handicap and hit the ball BACKWARDS! Parred the hole though.....I'm actually pretty proud of that. Stupid game.

Absolutely. There is one green on a course near my house that is known as the "prayer patch" and everyone laughs about it in the late spring and summer time. This green is just nasty and has such a severe slope to it that you can literally drop a ball on one end of it and watch it roll off to the left.

Anyway, Par 4... approximately 332 yards. Everything is blind and uphill from 80 out and is shaped like this: teeing off lower than the green.. playing a blind shot up and over a steep incline/hill to a little valley that dips down and then back up. The green is then sloped on an angle to the left. From half-way up this hill, which is where typical drives land, you're 80 yards away or so. Your only prayer is a high, soft landing on the right side of the green and expect your ball to roll to the left fringe so that you're putting uphill.

I have landed my ball within 3 feet of the hole with a birdie opportunity, having a downhill putt with a slight left-right break if you play it speed sensitive. I have literally had my ball miss left and roll 15-18 feet off of the other side of the green. I actually needed to go get my wedge and chip back up-hill. I then had a little too much spin and my ball did a horseshoe and rolled back down 2 feet to my right... right back off of the green. I chipped up again, this time 5 feet away and 2 putted from 5 feet due to complete rage lol.

This is another case of a Birdie to Bogey.... I started drinking immediately after that B of a hole!

Edit: I will take a picture of this green and upload it to this thread on Saturday at my turn so that you guys can see what I'm talking about. Hell, maybe a video of the ball rolling off the green too!

I don't even know what to be more surprised about... the fact that you hit a ball backwards (25 feet????!)  or that you managed a par after that

I don't think I could hit the ball backwards if I tried, lol. That is quite the accomplishment indeed!

Ha, nice! I was just curious about your distances (my mathematical breakdown wasn't meant to be snide or questioning you). I would have definitely bought you a beer on that recovery. Hell, I would be laughing pretty hard after hitting it backwards.. so I hope you were as well - especially at your index.

Reminds me of one more, as long as I'm baring my soul here.....

In a greenside bunker with a PERFECT lie, in nice firm sand.  Completely blew the shot.  Got out of the bunker and in disgust, took a hard swing with my sand wedge at my left shoe to knock the sand off of it.  Missed.  Hit that little bony thingy on the side of my ankle......best contact I made all day.   Screamed like a little girl and went down like I'd been hit with a shovel.  Different group of buddies, but no more sympathetic, they almost passed out laughing.

I gotta find a better class of golf buddies!

I've done that so many times. Not because I was swinging hard but just not paying attention. Always very painful.

I can't say that I've three putted from that close yet, I'm sure I will someday.  My worst putting moment was a 2 foot putt for birdie, not to mention that it would have been my first birdie ever, and I left it short.  Funny thing is my next round, I made that first birdie, from 20 feet.

You guys are killing me. I've got to print out this entire post and carry it in my bag so that the next time I take a double penalty on the easiest par 3 on my course, I'll have something to calm myself down with.
