'99 Ford F-150 regular cab XLT longbed 4x4 with a 5.4L V8 and 4x4 Off-Road Package.
Its been a pretty good truck, but its got over 180,000 miles on it and its starting to show its age.
Im planning on buying a Toyota Yaris next year. Im going to keep the truck for when I need to haul stuff and for driving in the snow, but the Yaris is going to save me a lot of money in gas.
In what the Yaris will save me in gas, it will almost pay for itself.

2003 Toyota Matrix XRs.

Yes, it's a Corolla with a much cooler looking skin.
It was so cool that I paid cash for the little booger the first time I saw it.
I had no idea it was a Corolla chassis until I finally looked at the owner's manual last year.

I have no idea what its 0-60 is, but 30-70 is about 2 seconds.
Variable camshafts rule.

2003 Toyota Matrix XRs.

Nice car, even better because its an XRS. That model has the 1.8L VVTL-i (variable valve timing and lift with intelligence) engine that was used in the Celica GT-S, so it gives you more power are high rpms than a standard Matrix. The only catch is that you only get the added valve lift in a 500 rpm window that is just before redline, so most people dont have the skill required to utilize this added power. Its still pretty cool technology though.

BTW, the Toyota Matrix and the Pontiac Vibe are the same car. Toyota merely puts a different body on it and viola, its a Pontiac. I know a few GM diehard who bought Vibes and were pretty upset when they popped the hood and it said, "Toyota Motor Corporation" on everything.

Another driver and I were both trying to proceed through the same yellow. I was going straight through, she was turning left, and I guess thought it would be funny to turn in front of me while I was going 50.

She got the fault and a ticket for "failure to yield."

You dont want an S-10 anyways. Those things have a service bulletin list a mile long and I dont know anyone who bought one and didnt have a ton of problems.

Audis are nice. Id look into the cost and availability of repair parts though. European cars arent exactly know for great reliability and considering the car is a '99, it wouldnt be all that unlikely that it would be due for some considerably component failures. I dont know about Canada, but here in the states parts for those Euro cars are somewhat hard to find (special order only in most cases) and fairly expensive. Not to mention the fact that Audis are somewhat rare around here, so finding someone who actually knows how to work on them is a bit of a challenge as well. Another car to look into would be a Subaru. They have a lot of the same features as Audis, but are much more common, so parts shouldnt be an issue. Not to mention the fact that because they are Japanese, quality and dependability isnt a concern. The only bad thing about Subies are those opposed cylinders. They can be a pain to work on and when they get older they sometimes smoke a bit at start-up because the oil pools in the valvecovers. Still good cars though...

Yeah it's the top trim package in the GMCs that isn't a Denali.

The Sierra Denali actually comes with a handful of performance-based differences, in addition to some exterior trim. As far as I could tell, the only difference on the interior was woodgrain surrounding the CD player (the SLT is brushed steel with woodgrain trim everywhere else.) 6-speed transmission, AWD, *I think* the 6.0L Vmax engine, Denali grill, more chrome crap on the exterior, etc. I love the truck... I sometimes wish I had the Denali just because I'm an elitist *******, but the SLT is probably the smart choice because it has all the creature comforts but I don't feel bad that I beat my truck to shit.

I threw my clubs into the lake so it's time to start over...

I knew about the Vibe. I cannot believe you could look at the sheet metal and not know it's the same car. The only difference I can see is the ugly Poncho nose and some trim details. Oh, well.

Thanks for decoding all that stuff on my valve covers. (I guess that's cam covers now)

    • Well, I have a 2 hybrid, 4 hybrid and then play 6 iron onwards.  My best clubs are probably the 4 hybrid and the PW.  What I find is that loft is your friend in general which is why my 4 hybrid is so much better than my 2 hybrid.  Definitely disproportionately more so than the 5 or so degrees of difference in loft.  If you have hybrids, play them.  And consider loft as your friend.  Invariably you will get up to a loft where anything less will not get you more distance because of your club head speed.  Essentially the faster you swing the less lofted a club you can hit effectively.  For me it is probably a 4 hybrid and maybe a 7 iron though I could improve both with practice
