i
Thanks appreciate it.  Yes the amount of loft effects how much the face contributes to start line, again in that 85-75% range (except for putters and some wedge shots).  In figuring out how much to aim right, you basically just try to aim where you want the ball to start.  So let's say for a 7 iron shot, you aim the face 5 yards right of the flag to accommodate for a 3-5 yard draw.  If the ball starts where you want it to and over draws(left of the flag), then you had too much path, if it was a straight push, the path and face were about equal. I recommend you take a look at this http://thesandtrap.com/b/playing_tips/ball_flight_laws http://www.trackman.dk/download/UserConfEU11/Ball%20Flight%20Laws%20I.pdf
is this assuming a club face square to the target

is this assuming a club face square to the target

No please read what I wrote again, red part below.  The best players in the world consistently play with a club face that is NOT square to the target.  Guys that draw it have a face RIGHT of the target and guys that fade it have a face LEFT of the target.
yeah I meant are you talking 3 degrees right of the target or swing path but I looked some videos up and understand now, do you recommend I get an instructor with a trackman or simulator? My current coach who walks around the range and gives advice and I see like 2 times a year uses video camera and has a pretty old fashion style of the game. My other option is the long drive guy the beast fister who just opened up and has all of the equipment

I cant get into all this technical discuss. I have two simple swing thoughts.

When I hook the ball, I feel like Im swinging my arms radially.

When I draw the ball, I feel like Im rolling my wrist.

I know that's simple , but it KISS thoughts that I rely on at the course and its worked for me.

Not necessarily.  I would recommend someone that can answer this question correctly: What mainly contributes to the initial start line of a golf shot?

And any instructors on this list

From what I've learned from my current instructor I don't think he has read into it very much.

I appreciate al,the help guys. But I have come to the conclusion I can not physically hit a draw. At best I hit it halfway straight. Very frustrating! :pound::cry:

I bet you can.  Try this drill, might just need to feel  or exaggerate some these pieces more

    • Day 75 (15 Jul 25) - Wedge work today in the backyard.  Focused on setup and  dialing in on immediate target line point in front of club. This drill helps me to center on longer range targets for tee shots as well as approaches.
    • I still need to do my pieces better.  Still a little steep in the downswing. Hands could get better depth earlier in the backswing.  This shot started left of target and went left. Probably path was out, face was closed a lot.       At A5, it’s probably the best it’s been.  I need to feel more shallowing from A5 to A6. Hands need to go straight down and club needs to shallow. I need to turn. I am just way too closed here. Just trying to buy time to lower the arms. Everything stalls from time to time. Timing is highly variable. Not a big fan of the slight EE.  I am just hanging back at impact.

    • Well, on a "Bummer Note,"  I borrowed a Great Big Bertha driver, a 5 wood, and a 7 iron. I did not do very well but did shoot a 112 playing both right and left handed.   So, I decided to take a breather and play golf on my Play Station 5 and not play any real golf until the new set of clubs get her.  So, I will be back in  a week or so and bring everyone up to date.    Retired Old Man = Terry
