Best Practice Ball

I'm looking for a practice ball that will give good feedback on whether I'm making any progress on my slice or not. Anyone have any recomendations?

What do you mean by "practice"? Do you mean 50-60 ballls that you will put in a bag and go to a place and hit and shag yourself? If so, my first recommendation would be to get used versions of the ball you normally play in the best condition you deem financially feasible. This can be done for 25-50 cents on the dollar depending on quality. The next best would be to find a less expensive ball that has similar characteristics to you regular ball, and obtain used versions of that. Next would be any type of golf ball that is not a "range rock". While the balls closer to what you normally use will give more accurate results, any regular golf ball that is not completely beat up will indicate whether your flight is straight, slicing or hooking.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I'm looking for something I can use when I don't have the kind of room I'd need for a real golf ball. Something like the foam balls or whiffle balls, but that would give me feedback on whether I'm slicing or not.

I like the "Almost Golf" balls, they are kind of a compressed foam, and seem to behave the same as a regular ball, except on a smaller scale. The thing about them though is that they will still go pretty far, a lot farther than a whiffle type or soft foam ball, but they won't break anything.

The closed cell foam balls work great. Decent enough feel off the face, way better than a wiffle ball. I use them in my basement with just an old bedsheet hanging for a net. In an open space they go about a 1/3 of actual distance.

Even 1/3 distance is too much for many folks. Of course unless you have a backyard that is 100 yards long for all of us Internet 300 yarders. As a kid I had whiffles that went 75 feet w/driver. Perfect for a yard that was 100 feet wide.

I bought the foam ones, but only use wedges when practicing at home anyway.

We have an area right down the street from us that gives me a lot more room than just my back yard.  I don't know if it it's quite 100 yards or not though.  The Almost Golf balls might work there if they would give me a good indicator of how bad the slice is.
