I like that they point out that prior to that play he'd done virtually nothing all game.

That comment tells me you either don't understand the game or didn't watch the game..

he did virtually nothing all game - more like nothing really happened with him... b/c he was targeted twice.. once he got called on a ridiculous BS holding penalty.

the second time it was game over..

if you're a corner back and passes are never thrown your way, what can you do all game? NOT have anything happen IS a great game.  SF with 150 yards passing all game, and he did nothing?  geeeezzzz

That's OK.  No harm done.  (Thanks @jamo ) :)

But for the record, I didn't watch the game closely enough to notice how many times they threw Sherman's way.  All I was doing in that post was pointing out that the author of the article I linked said that.  Same thing I was saying in the follow up as well.  It was the author of that article (Sherman himself, I believe) who pointed out that they only threw his way a couple of times.

I'm just the messenger! :-P

One other thing about Sherman (heard it on the radio at lunch) is that, as you all may be able to guess is true of many a Stanford grad, he had a 4.2 GPA (I inferred they meant in high school) and got over 1400 on his SATs.  The point being, he is not dumb.  They compared him to Deion and Floyd Mayweather as the type of guy who knows when the camera is on and knows what to do when it is.  My opinion ... Just with that couple minute stretch at the end of the game yesterday, he raised the amount of publicity he will receive over the course of the next two weeks (and depending on performance, possibly beyond) exponentially.  I think if I was his publicist or agent right now, I would be looking at this differently ... as in, it was genius. ;)

Yah he's a bright guy.. extremely well spoken.. articulates his thoughts.. doesn't spew trash just to hype things.

And yah he can be a punk at times and that gets a bit annoying, but as a football player.. is there anyone who does NOT wish he was on your team?

Sorry but no excuses for Sherman.  It is Professional football, not MMA or Boxing.  Peyton Manning was the BEST QB in the NFL this year and other than a comment about a "liquored up kicker" a few years back (his own BTW), you have never heard him act this way.  Other players have been the best at their positions, and they don't act like this.  Sore losers are understandable at times, but sore winners?  Just bush league.  Now I am rooting for the Broncos to embarrass him.

It's rare that an undisciplined mouth doesn't eventually come back to haunt its owner.  I know that the first thing an experienced coach says in the first team meeting after earning a trip to the big game is to think carefully before you say anything, public or "private".  Somehow privacy seems to be an illusion when players start trash talking before the Super Bowl- such quotes always seem to end up posted on the other team's bulletin board.  You really don't want to give your opponent any added incentive through plain stupidity.

I don't mind Richard Sherman. He's doesn't like Skip Bayless, and that's enough for me. :-D

I don't really care about the rest of your post (although I agree with it), but I'd just like to say that this is a great sentence. :)

I guess that means a lot of people are ok by you, if not liking Skip Bayless is enough!

I'm rooting for Decker or Welker to blow him up on a pick play.

You can't mean you want the Broncos to run an illegal play to try to intentionally injure him, do you? Because of some ill-chosen words he used after a game? Seems a little harsh, don't you think?

He's a great corner; I won't take that away from him. However, he gets away with a lot. Way too much in fact. If he can hold a receiver for 15 yards down the field, then I have no problem with offensive coordinators drawing up plays to "neutralize" him... :-P

I hope your joking about intentionally injuring someone.

I didn't say I wanted him to get injured and be out of the game. In fact, I think the game would be lacking if he went down early with an injury. But as Justin Verlander said on Twitter, if Sherman were a baseball player, he would get a fastball high and tight.

    • Birdied #13 at Quail Brook, which is new. Blocked tee shot right which ended up being fine because I didn't hit it well enough to reach the fescue. Had 110 to the flag and was ready to hit a 3/4 GW to it (even tagged the club) but felt the wind pick up behind me so I decided to club down to the SW and hit it to 4'. Lipped out a 15-footer on #17 for birdie for a tap-in par that also would have been new.
    • I've had a couple of good shots since the last time I posted, 1 a 90 yard approach that I manufactured with my gap wedge that I knocked to about 18 inches, 1 a ~140 yard 8 iron that I got to about 3 feet (pictured), but this week my best shot was a 60 yard pitch. It wasn't anything special but I did hit it out of a divot, so that's what I'm more proud of. Plus, i didn't really have any memorable shots this week.
    • Just a  follow up, I had the best lessons ever on gears with the best instructor! Wish I would’ve made the drive earlier in the year but put it together during a golf trip. Gears was incredible to see your swing in 3d with all the necessary data. I’ve had very few formal lessons in the past and a couple online but nothing compared to working with Erik. He made it  very comfortable and relaxed, patient with all my  questions and showed some swing comparisons of pros swings.    Our main focus was getting the pelvis to move in a better pattern and when he first pushed on my hip with that pvc going back it was like a “wow” moment. And to see the affects in real time just made it quicker to adapt and learn how to find it again, however, even without gears I’m sure it would’ve been an awesome lesson..it’s just nice for some players to see the facts, no debate… At the end of the 1st session I was shocked at the video seeing my pelvis move better, hips open, no early extension. I was literally like I can’t believe that video capture is me! I’m glad I had a second session the following morning, just to reinforce the earlier ideas and work on the next piece to complete the movement, and we still had plenty of time to mess around with lower priority ideas for later. I left that afternoon armed with a practice plan, he took extra time to show me what to look for on my own video and I got a copy of LSW. We’ll continue on evolvr for checkups until another road trip for sure! I also just ordered the stack system with his discount code to work on some speed training as well.    Just wanted to share my appreciation for all Erik’s help and anyone finding there way here like I did over the winter to give it a try!
