What's the story on these?  Lots of comments on forged  v.cast, cavity v. muscle, all v blades  but little comment on shafts. I could use some betterment, esp on distance so am thinking of total change. Maybe cast, cavity and graphite. Any ideas?  Yeah, i read about steel over  graphite but probably too expensive for me if Kuchar uses them and Jack Nicklaus raves.

You mean you want more distance?

I switched from PX 5.0 to AeroTech i95 (discussed in several other threads here). These are the composite shafts Kuchar plays that you mention above.

Feel better. Less stress on my elbows. NOT LONGER (at least not much if any). I was not looking for longer. The flight a bit higher. I really like them.

I find graphite shafts to feel softer and easier on the joints and like them. I have heard a good bit of discussion about how much "softer" forged feels vs cast, but I presume that tends to be with the same shaft on both heads. I suspect cast may feel softer with graphite vs forged with steel. Graphite is often lighter than steel, so may add to distance by increasing swing speed somewhat (drivers all come with graphite for a reason). However, the lighter shafts will change the feel of the club as you swing it. This would at least take some getting used to if you have been using steel shafts. I suspect this difference turns a lot of steel shaft users off when they try graphites. I would suggest getting a good fitting and try both. See how the different shafts affect the launch monitor results and the feel of the clubs.
