Fellow TST'rs,

I am responsible for operating 12 golf leagues (approximately 250 golfers total) at a large private organization.  I am looking for an external-hosted service and/or software that runs on a mobile platform and can handle live score posting (across multiple leagues) and handicapping.

Does anyone know if such software exists, or can make a recommendation?  All I can find that is close is GolfLeagueGenius.com at approximately $15/player per season.

Any help or guidance would be much appreciated!

DB

This software will do the job, and the company is very responsive and user friendly.

Looking for League Software.

In 2021 I will be taking over the administration of my league and am looking at updating the "System".  Currently they are using a spreadsheet created by the league president over a decade ago.  From searching the net I see many on-line options and was curious if any TST Members have experience with any of newer on-line programs to narrow my search.  I did see that the company recommended back in 2014 by KevCarter is still in business and has an updated on-line version but I would like to look at 2-3 before I make a choice.

A few particulars:  We have 2 Flights and players compete as individuals with weekly matches determined by low net score for 9 holes.  Golfers get points for winning a match as well as their net score relative to par.  They use a league only handicap based on most recent 4 rounds.  We also run two "Half" Seasons and re-align the flights after the first half champions are determined.  I do have a little concern on "On-Line" if it requires each golfer to enter scores since we have some members over the age of 80 which may not utilize smart phones.

Thank you in advance.

Stuart M.

With the criteria you have, it's most likely you will need to create a custom spreadsheet / program.
Granted there are a couple of applications which can help with live scoring, IE: Golf GameBook
Most Golf Apps only track a single group and are not beneficial for leagues or large groups.
There are a few online services which may create a custom application to suite your needs,
but it may reflect a large $$ to use.

I've written and used spreadsheets for our Mens Games for the past 17 years.
I started mobile scoring using PDA's and then Smart Phones with Mobile Sheets.
This year I had a Custom Scoring App made and use google sheets as my leaderboard.

I've written scoring games for Match Play, Stroke Play, Flights, Skins, Stableford, etc.
Basically all the popular formats for leagues.

I suggest looking at the GameBook App.
It's the only application which users can download scores to spreadsheets for various formatted games.

I have no idea. It was developed by someone at our club. If you want more info, I can probably track down someone to help you out.

    • Its going to be a busy few months for me.  In just a couple of weeks I'll be joining the SandTrap group near Pittsburgh for 2 rounds.  Then in August we'll be in Nova Scotia for a week, including both Cabot courses.  And now we've added another little holiday.  Following my niece's wedding west of Detroit, my wife and I will go up to Forest Dunes for 3 rounds.  I picked that spot because I'm intrigued by The Loop, a Doak design that is played in different directions on alternating days.  One day is the Red, playing counter-clockwise, the next days is the black, going clockwise.  And there's the original course, a Weiskopf design.  All told, 10 new courses to add to my list!
