Tried to get from Chattanooga to New Orleans yesterday...made it to Exit 76 on I-59.  Got hotel (I was lucky).  Not leaving today because Interstate is still iced and closed in many places between here and home...

You guys that live in the "Snow Belt" are probably laughing at us "Southerners", but to be honest, I can drive in the snow but the ice is something else.....Crazy Rednecks don't slow down and endanger themselves and others.  They think those 4 WD trucks can go anyplace....many of them ended up in ditches and median.....

Took 7.5 hours to get here, regular trip usually takes 7 hours the whole way.  A little less than half way before I decided to stop before it got dark... :bugout:

Oh very much so. Say hello to Atlanta with only 0.3" of snow on the ground. Pansy southerners. I drive fine to work with upwards of 4-5 inches before.

4 WD is all and good for snow, but when you get ice you are screwed. Physics still wins out on that one, got to love friction.

Snow is one thing, ice is entirely different. I don't play around with ice. The thing with 4WD is that people don't realize that it does NOT help you stop, or even steer for that matter.

Seems like Mother Nature is making up for the mild winters we had recently. Stay safe all.

Talk to me about, "wusses" if it ever gets up to 100* in Wisconsin.  You guys all retreat into the a/c when it gets above 75.

In their defense, the southern states are not equipped to handle snow and ice.  How many sanders and plows do they have in Alabama?  My city probably has more.

    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
