I have two Titleist 913 D2 drivers, one 10.5 and the other 9.5.

Both are set at standard loft and +0.75 degrees lie because that's where I hit them best. Will not make any more changes.

During a stipulated round, the playing characteristics of a club must not be purposely changed by adjustment or by any other means.

Judging from all the posts, it seems like adjustable clubs are kind of fun, and maybe a little helpful for some, but it certainly isn't the game-changing, must-have technology that clubmakers make it out to be.  Is adjustability really helpful for golfers, or is it primarily for clubmakers to churn new product for profit?

Adjustable drivers are more beneficial to the manufacturers and retail stores than golfers.  In the past a manufacturer would have to produce a mix of different lofted heads and different shafts which resulted in a large number of potential combinations to be manufactured and stocked by store owners.

Now they just have to produce one head since the loft is adjustable.  Factor in interchangeable shaft tips so they can mix and match shafts with adjustable heads to minimize dead stock in their inventory.

I do see some potential advantage for golfers being the ability to adjust the loft for different wind conditions or to compensate for changes within ones swing.

Works pretty good for selling drivers. Heck I've even bought two of them myself.

I would buy another adjustable driver if I liked it and I hit well, but I could say the same for a non-adjustable driver that I liked and hit well.

The only useful feature to me is the ability to easily add back swing weight after I cut down the length of the shaft.

    • I found it odd that both Drs. (Raymond Prior and Greg Rose) in their separate videos gave the same exact math problem (23 x 12), and both made the point of comparing block practice to solving the same exact math problem (23 x 12) over and over again. But I've made the point that when you are learning your multiplication tables… you do a bunch of similar multiplications over and over again. You do 7 x 8, then 9 x 4, then 3 x 5, then 2 x 6, and so on. So, I think when golf instructors talk about block practice, they're really not understanding what it actually is, and they're assuming that someone trying to kinda do the same thing is block practice, but when Dr. Raymond Prior said on my podcast that what I was describing was variable practice… then… well, that changes things. It changes the results of everything you've heard about how "block" practice is bad (or ineffective).
    • Day 121 12-11 Practice session this morning. Slowing the swing down. 3/4 swings, Getting to lead side better, trying to feel more in sync with swing. Hit foam balls. Good session overall.
