male and female tournament on the tour

So I think there should be a PGA & LPGA event on the tour, ladies tee off from the female tees men from the tips. I think this would be awesome to watch and it would probably get a lot more women interested in watching golf if they thought one of the ladies could win. What do you guys think.

Seems like the hardest part is figuring out where to put "women's" tees. There is such a huge range of distances off of the tee on the LPGA Tour (and even among public female players for that matter) that finding some kind of happy medium that would give most women a competitive chance also gives the longest hitters too much advantage against men.

Most women don't watch golf because most women don't watch sports at all, no matter who's playing.

Plus the last thing the LPGA wants to do is to show that clearly just how big of a difference there is between the games of the average male tour pro and the average woman tour pro.

The fact that you want to watch something that basically already exists, yet don't know that it already exists, is why I think it's probably not a very exciting idea.  Nobody cares.

I agree that it seems intriguing in a "well, that's different" sort of way, but when it comes down to it, it's not at all exciting.  I would certainly not go out of my way to watch it, just as I don't for the Wendy's 3-Tour Challenge now.  If I'm flipping stations and it's on, I'll probably leave it because its golf, but I'm not searching it out.

We've had this sort of thread before. The LPGA players wouldn't like it because they don't want to show off the difference between the men and women. The PGA Tour players wouldn't like it on the chance that some of the women beat some of the men. Rinse and repeat.
