I really think Joost's best days are behind him. He looks nothing like the player he was in 2013/14 and with so much young talent coming through now in europe and all over the world i would bet a pound against a penny there's no way he's making it back inside the worlds top 50.  Only time will tell if he proves me wrong.

I think you are overreacting a little bit. Luiten performed better and raised on the rankings every single year. This is the first season in a long time his performance is disappointing, but does that immediately mean his days are over? It's quite clear he was trying something 'new' this year: Not playing a lot of tournaments, and go for a PGA card. That didn't work. He probably is not good enough to be a top 10 or top 20 player in the world, but coming back to Europe and play where he feels most comfortable I can't see why we should lose hope on him being a steady top 40-50 player. His best years are yet to come, one disappointing season in the USA doesn't change that.

After this week Luiten will play three tournaments in a row, before The Final Series will start; Porsche European Open (Germany), Alfred Dunhill Links Championship (Scotland) and the British Masters.

Back in Europe and hopefully a good ending of the season.

Today Luiten starts in his last tournament before the Final Series: The British Masters. It's a very disappointing season so far. Some say he didn't play enough tournaments; well, this now is his 3rd tournament in a row. Game on.

Good start: -3 and inside the top 20 after the first round. Only three days left to mess it up ;-)

Another round below par (-2) and just outside the top 10 for now. At least in a good position for the weekend. A little bit too many bogeys (3) to go really low.

Disappointing weekend (level par and +1), finishing position 30ish. Next the big tournaments of the final series.

With the start of the tournaments of The Final Series, it's the last chance for Luiten to turn this season around. Starting as 29th at the OWGR, he dropped to 73th within less then a season. It's quite clear it's a disappointing season and dito results. However with 4 big tournaments in a row now, the ending can be amazing and save his entire season. First the Turkish Airlines Open. Last two years he finished 25th and 18th.

Honestly, he would need top 5's in all four tournaments to get back into the top 50.  Am rooting for him because I studied in the Netherlands (Deventer) quite a few years back so a soft spot for all Dutch golfers.

Unfort. we already know that's not going to happen, since he's not eligable to play the WGC - HSBC if I'm not mistaken. Thanks to his poor performances this season. But yes, he needs good results in all of them (or: win one). Based on this season you would say that's not going to happen.

Guys, was watching Golfing Central shortly before the WGC live coverage started today and saw Joost featured in it.  Think they were doing a piece on hairstyles on tour and heard something about Tiger having leapord spots dyed into his hair and then muted it cos wifey was on a call and saw Joost's face.  By the time I unmuted it, they were onto someone else.  Did anybody catch this.  Anyway, even if his game does not get him a lot of air time at least this will hopefully do that.

Yesterday at -2 and today at +2 to be even par for the BMW championship is not exactly great going for Joost.  If he performs like this, sad to say, he will probably fall out of the top 100 by year end.  Still, we can be optimistic and say he is going to burn up the course on days 3 and 4 and get a high finish :-)

Decent start, bad second day. Besides one or two tournaments, it's basically a bad performance every week. His schedule for the next season is already up for the first 2-3 months, I will give an update about that later. He's focussing solely on the European Tour again.

Good start in Dubai, 3 under today, Lets hope he can finish the European season with a nice consistent tournament, without a typical 'mess-up day', as we have seen before this season.

A good position after three rounds, but than again it was followed by a bad round and a finishing position around ~30th.

After a very succesfull 2014 season, the conclusion regarding the 2015 season is that it was very disappointing. One top position at the Scottish Open and that was it. Not good at all. This week already the 2016 season starts; a fresh start and hopefully soon back on track again. His schedulde for the upcoming months:

Nov. 26th - Alfred Dunhill Championship

Dec. 10th - Thailand Golf Championship

Jan. 21st - Abu Dhabi HSBC

Jan. 27nd - Qatar Masters

Feb. 4th - Dubai Desert Classics

Yes lets hope he can bounce back next season. I also saw something on his website about back problems. Het commented that he had pain in his back during the 4th round yesterday. Lets hope it is not very serious.

Today Joost was paired with Louis Oosthuizen and Branden Grace in the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa.  Was playing well and didn't look like his back was troubling him.  Was on TV a lot due to Branden Grace winning last year, Louis coming second and them being huge fan favourites at home in SA.  Good for him to get recognition.  Ended the day at -4 in T4.  Hope he has 4 good rounds and not his usual 3 decent rounds and one bad round to put him in 30'th or some such position.

    • 70 today. The number looks good but, the course is a par 67 (5,110 yards, 64.3/115.). While the 70 took quite a few good shots to achieve, I am not counting that as shooting my age.
    • Played our town’s executive course this morning. Everything is closing but for now Huron Hills remains open. #13 is shaped like an upside down backwards L (dogleg left). Only 231 yard par 4. Dogleg has a tree guarding the corner and a sand bunker guards the green for those cutting the dogleg. Tiny green. About 10 years ago or more I would try to cut the dogleg. The hole is so short that even if one tangled with the tree or was bunkered, par was likely and birdie was still on the table. Now in my 70’s, I just hit it straight and try to wedge it close for birdie. Today I screwed up and pulled my drive. I wandered around a bit when my ball was not in the bunker. Finally located it on the approach to the green. Almost chipped in and tapped in the 2 inches for birdie. Best unintentional shot of the week. 😲

    • Why wouldn't it have? It's not like you were playing it as a 145yd par 5 and made a 2 or something.  Or not like it was playing 50yds to a temporary green or something either.
