I'm in Bangkok for business.  Within 4 blocks of my hotel (Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit) I have two high end shopping malls, many nice restaurants, shops where you can get custom made suits, counterfeit shops, Soi Cowboy (look it up) and many massage parlors with "ladies" with matching outfits.  All the while working folks, tourists and school children are bustling around this.  And this is the nice section of Bangkok.

That being said, everyone here has been very nice.  The city is nicer than some I have seen in the world.  And the food is fabulous.

I LOVE Bankok! I'd be happy to recommend some places to visit, but that was back when I was 28, single....and anything you caught could be cured with a shot in the ass! FWIW, Pattaya Beach is an easy 2 hour drive and WELL worth the trip, or at least it was 30 years ago. :-)

I never understood the opening to that song.

I mean, I like it, but I don't understand why it's there. :)

Totally agree, I think it takes away from the song..Likely some producer thought it would be cool....NOT!!

No time to head down there unfortunately.  But we did run the gauntlet of Soi Cowboy last night.  I did not see Bradley Cooper anywhere.  It was actually much tamer than I expected.

I just flew in from Bangkok and boy are my arms tired!

Jet lag always seems worse coming back for me.  I got home at 11PM last night and slept until 10AM today.  Usually I wake around 5 AM without an alarm.  I did the same during the whole trip, 4:30 - 5:30.

It was a nice trip. Nice people, good food and none of the long hours at a factory that I sometimes have.  Good to be back though.
