That's cool that you have a buddy to depend on. I've got a few willing to help, and we've made good teams. Its just hard to call on them all the time, especially with the small amount of money involved. Usually I'll pick up lunch or something.

Yeah thats what i usually do for my caddy, I buy him lunch. I'm lucky really, he enjoys the day out watching some good players. Thanks man, i'l check out those tours. Do you have a sponsor? I just pay for myself, I have a part time job at a golf course. Hey did you check out the players tour I play on? I'm building up to play on the Euro Pro Tour, thats 2 tours below the European Tour.

If I had a friend on that kind of level, I would caddie for him no questions asked. I would think that it would be a blast to get you be involved in something like that.

Hey played at Springfield Park golf Club this morning. We've had so much rain the last couple of weeks so the course was perfect for scoring. I didn't hit it great but managed to shoot 3 under par on the front 9 and level on the back side.

The highlight of the round was on the 13th hole. Its a 270 yard short par 4 with a tall tree guarding the green. It was into the wind so I tried to cut a driver round the tree and onto the green. As I started my downswing my right foot slipped and I hit a massive hook into the trees. No chance of finding it. So hit 3 of the tee and tried to play the exact same shot. I hit it perfect and it finshed 1 inch from the hole. I tapped it in for par and walked off the green wondering how I got away with it lol! Can't wait for my next event.

Bad Day:

Played Nationwide Tour Monday Qualifying for the Soboba Classic. Shot 2 over. Missed by 8. ha. Went double bogey, bogey on 2 and 3. Hit the ball nicely, except the OB driver for the double, just couldn't get the putts to the hole. I've been putting very timid.

Good Day:

Played in my weekly event on the Pepsi Tour at Brookside in Pasadena. Shot a 2 under 70 to tie for 3rd. Still hitting good shots, but, still left some putts short. The greens had been punched the week prior, so they certainly weren't rolling fast, but still, left about three putts short and dead in the heart for birdie.

I'm not afraid of 2' - 3' putts, so I don't know why I have such a hard time getting putts to the hole?!

Wow, 2 over and missed by 8! Congrats on the 3rd. I love reading about your Tour Play. Keep it up!

I played in a Mid-Am last week and if the putts weren't dead center, they were coming back out. It was frustrating because the course was sloppy (had rained for 2 weeks) and I really needed those putts.

What course are you at? I'm in Ripon, North Yorkshire, so I may have played it!

Awesome thread anyway, you guys should get a reality tv show or something. Pretty cool of you to pseudo-blog for us on here!

Yea, thanks for posting this stuff up Ben, Im rooting for ya man!

So 6 under in one round just to qualify?? Seems a bit extreme. At a +2.5 cap, you'll be on the Nationwide tour very soon man!

Keep it up, Im watching this thread closely!

dumb question. is there any reason for a pro to maintain a handicap? does it matter if you are +2.5, +1 or +5?

    • Day 316 - More swings, full backswing and full finish.
    • Day 132: did some mirror work while watching TV. Worked on backswing stuff primarily.
    • 26 Nov 24 -  It was not a record breaking round by any means, but rather a simple walking of the back nine today playing TBWB (two ball-worse ball) where the challenge is to play the worse of the two shots played - could be an errant drive from the woods, a tree knocked ball that is 100 yds farther back down the fairway, a nGIR ball as opposed to a GIR….the goal today was to stay no worse than bogie thru nine.  Managed to achieve that goal - bogied 7 holes with one dbl and one par to counter the dbl.  It’s about staying focused and not letting a bad shot or lie derail, but rather be an opportunity.
    • Day 208 (26 Nov 24)- Opted to walk 9 today (was the back nine as they had a huge group going off the front) but instead of it being persimmons and blades, I had the regular gamers but made it a TBWB (two ball-worst ball) round.  This really challenges on several fronts - ball striking to be as consistent as possible, course management from non-optimal lies and keeping your head in it as it can be depressing to nail a shot on line-on target and the second rattles the trees right and it’s over 50 yards back and that’s the one you have to play.  The goal was to be no worse than bogie overall (+9).  Finished the round exactly on the number with some solid recoveries, no penalty strokes and only one 3-putt.
