Hey guys, didn't want to post this to the main golf talk thread, but I am looking for people to play golf with in the Downriver / Monroe area of Michigan.  I want to enter a two person scramble tomorrow morning at Sandy Creek but my partner backed out.  Anyone interested?

Hi Mark,

I just joined this group so I apologize for the late reply.

I'm not down in that part of the state very often, but if you or any of the Michigan Group members ever venture up into my neck of the woods, we should plan an outing for 2015. I'm in the Cadillac/Traverse City area.

I'm not much in the way of organizing these things, but we could always pick a course in the middle of the state should the group decide to put something together.

Hey Jon,

I've been looking to put together a Northern Michigan outing one Summer with some friends and/or fellow MI golfers.  I will see if I can put something together this year.

Nice. If you put something together and need an extra player (and don't mind playing with high capper), please keep me in mind.

Have you played up here in the past? If so, where?

I'm a member at Caberfae Peaks about 15 miles outside of Cadillac. The have lodging and a nine hole course. It's not a 5 star resort by any stretch of the imagination, but I've played a few other courses in the area and I prefer this course over all but maybe two of the others. The fact that I get to play unlimited golf all season for $100 makes it easy to appreciate.

I've played Crystal Mountain a few times, that's it for Up North courses for me. Beautiful part of the state, so many courses I want to play up there. If I put something together you'll be first on the list. Any mid-Michigan courses you could think of that are centrally located for us Detroit area folks to meet?

Crystal Mountain is only 20 minutes down M115 from my house. I'm embarrassed to say I've never played either of their courses. The kids used to snowboard at Crystal and I have a nephew who works there. That course and resort are very nice from what I understand. They hold a Michigan LPGA event there.

As far as middle of the state, what do you think about Grand Rapids? Is that much of a drive for you? My two sons go to school/live down there and have played a few of the courses. They tell me the course at GVSU - The Meadows - is pretty nice.

The Crystal Mountain courses are just beautiful.   The layout is friendly but challenging.  Highly recommended.

Yeah, GR is a good location for me, about a 2.5 hour drive, not bad.
