How do you like the X2 Hot? I love mine.

My kids are "giving" it to me for Christmas, so I am not permitted to open it yet.  I had it cut down 1/2" too, so I am eager to see how it all goes!

selling off all my 2014 clubs,( course are closed here right now, although I still see green grass) making room for 2015s

I do this every year

Wow, I thought people doing this was just a myth like people replacing their new car every year.   More power to you ... I am green with envy.

God bless those people. I might even buy some of their gear.

As I said I do it every year, new fitted irons 5-PW (plus 1/2, 1.5 deg up right, stiff 90-100 gram kbs tour, midsize grip), usually 2 hybrids #3 set higher and a #5 set on standard, #4 tour fairway wood  and a new driver.  Sometimes I'll get wedges 54-and 58 every year and half. This year they too will be replaced with my custom specs, 1/2 longer, standard lie with a slightly fatter grip down low- Im right handed.  Putter I am keeping it was bought new last year, a 43 inch belly, shortened to 41 inch- but I don't belly it when I putt. Putting was the most single largest improvement to my game last year. This putter was the reason. it rolled the ball like no putter I had ever used. Including camerons, bettenardi high end odysseys and pings etc.

It may appear that I am complicated or picky but once the season starts, I tinker with nothing and I am set to go. I come right out of the gate knowing my distances, based on shaft length and loft. I do notice the spin degradation thru the course of a years play (7-8 months  season) with my irons and wedges.

I like playing with new clubs every year.

Got to hit the new BB Alpha 815 hybrids last week and really liked them. I think they come out around the PGA Show. Will probably be putting the 18 and 20 degrees in the bag, adjust the 20 to 21.

Dropped a titleist 906f4 3w for a X2 hot 4w.  The 60* wedge was an older cleveland and the 19* hybrid was a TM Dual rescue.  Better now?

My apology..  I kinda read the post wrong, but that doesn't excuse my comment.  It was wrong.

That's not what I thought of immediately.   My immediate thoughts were 1) you must be filthy (no offense) rich, and 2) I wish I was in your shoes.

I am going through my 1st custom fit clubs after 5 years of golf,  except for wedges & putter (not enough money, too many clubs to custom fit).   I think I should at least re-groove my wedges.

Every year I have spent the off season replacing something in hopes that it aides my game in the slightest.

This year I vowed to replace nothing. My game is improving, my yardage and accuracy is approving.

I am going to stick with what I have.

That is unless I find a good deal on a 3 hybrid. In that case I am swapping out my 5 wood for a much needed 3 hybrid!

In my Grom:

Driver-Taylormade 10.5 Woods- Taylomade 3 wood, taylormade 4 Hybrid
Irons- Callaway Big Berthas 5i - GW Wedges- Titles Volkey  Putter- Odyssey protype #9
Ball- Bridgestone E6
All grips Golf Pride

    • Day 48. Got out at lunch to the range to hit some driver shots. Haven’t had much practice there. Focused on setup suggested by @iacas and found some very playable results. I did try to hit a couple of bunker shots after that with much less success 🙃
    • Got a rare birdie on #18 Par 5.  Drive was good and left me in range of the green.  I was @ 210 from the center and needed @ 180 to clear a hazard area.  Green had bunkers lest, right and on back. had been struggling and most shots were short so I took the 225 club figuring back of green hit well. i did hit it well, @ 229 per SS and dead on—kind at the pin.  Ended up @ 1 foot off the back in short rough and lucky for me it was a back pin placement.  Chipped about 15 feet leaving a 3 feet putt for par which I sunk.
    • Yea, so to clarify for me. I do not feel the clubface much in the swing. I feel the weight of the club. I can feel if I hit the club off the heel or toe. When I try to feel if the clubface is open or closed in the swing, I feel it more with my hands, and less of the clubhead. I would classify majority of my swings as not feeling like the clubface does much of all. It feels like I hold the clubface open. In the finish, it doesn't feel like my left hand faces the ground. It feels more like it faces the sky. I will try to be more aware of this, but it was just the sensation I got when I was making what felt like good swings. For the most part, I was hitting slight draws or slight pushes.  On this golf trip, I had to hit a low 8 iron around a tree to the green. I made an alignment adjustment, and actively try to roll my hands a bit more to get it to sling around the corner. I do have a habit of not adjusting how the clubface comes through impact, and I can still hit the ball straight-ish even moving the ball way back in my stance and trying to swing out more.  Yea, my feels are more hands and arms, less actually feeling the clubface.
