Might as well start this early :-D

Looks like a newspaper print. Still, I would have been more impressed if Florida State won when it didn't outscore their opponents.

I thought you'd be the last person around here to want to move on from the 2014 season. ;) But I guess osu looks pretty good going into 2015. I'm a notre dame fan and very excited about 2015. They collapsed after the near win in Tallahassee, but were such a young team. They return 19 starters in 2015.

After this season I wonder if Meyer gets really good QBs or whether he's just such a good coach that he can make any QB look awesome.  I mean, he gets Tim Tebow to win a Heisman and 2 championships, then wins with OSU no matter who they throw back there.

Its mostly Urban and his system. Don't make that out to be a bad thing. All coaches have a system and all QB's are a system QB. Some are just good at learning new systems. They tend to last longer in the NFL, especially these days with the way the Offenses changes. Use to be you only needed to know the West Coast offense or the Power-I style.

Basically, Ohio State is 6 deep in the WR at any given time. They are 2-3 deep at the RB position. They have one of the best O-Line coach in the NCAA. Also, it is how they train the QB's. In the film room there is no primary QB. All the QB's interact as they are the starter. Given the starter gets majority of the reps. As for learning the offense, all QB's are treated equally. They make sure that the QB's are brought up to speed fast.

So basically you have a situation where all the QB's know the offense. They just need the reps to get up to full speed and get use to game time situations. Then you have talent around them that gives them as safety net. Urban never really recruited high level QB's.

I just think Urban is that good at getting players to buy into his system and his system works.

He's as good a coach as there is in the game today, at any level.

SI puts them at #4--which is crazy--but I'm optimistic.

They were a play away from beating FSU in Tallahassee and riding high into Arizona, but once they lost their shot at the playoff was gone.  I think they just packed it in after that.  But they're bringing back 18 starters and I think Zaire looked terrific in his limited time.

Yeah I think #4 is too high. Whenever they are hyped up like this they seem to underperform. I'm hoping Zaire can provide ball security because that was the biggest problem last season along with injuries. I'm concerned about playing 2 triple option teams this year as it always seems to bring injuries with the cut blocks that come with it. If they stay healthy I think they can be pretty good.

That's way too high. I am not sure they crack the top 15. Just too much uncertainty for me. They return a lot of starters, but they were the mash unit last year, always injured. I think there are at least 15 other teams who have shown more to get place above them in the preseason. Though I wouldn't be shocked if they ended up something like 12th or 13th to start. I don't think they should be in the top 10.

    • A 5400 yd course is not that short for gents driving it 160 yards considering the approach shot lengths they are going to be faced with on Par 4s.  Also, for the course you are referring to I estimate the Par 4s have to average longer than 260 yds, because the Par 5s are 800 yds or so, and if there are four Par 3s averaging 130 the total is 1320 yds.  This leaves 4080 yds remaining for 12 Par 4s.  That is an average of 340 per hole. Anyway, if there are super seniors driving it only 160ish and breaking 80 consistently, they must be elite/exceptional in other aspects of their games.  I play a lot of golf with 65-75 yr old seniors on a 5400 yd course.  They all drive it 180-200 or so, but many are slicers and poor iron players.  None can break 80. I am 66 and drive it 200 yds.  My average score is 76.  On that course my average approach shot on Par 4s is 125 yds.  The ten Par 4s average 313 yds.  By that comparison the 160 yd driver of the ball would have 165 left when attempting GIR on those holes.
    • I don't think you can snag lpga.golf without the actual LPGA having a reasonable claim to it. You can find a ton of articles of things like this, but basically: 5 Domain Name Battles of the Early Web At the dawn of the world wide web, early adopters were scooping up domain names like crazy. Which led to quite a few battles over everything from MTV.com You could buy it, though, and hope the LPGA will give you a thousand bucks for it, or tickets to an event, or something like that. It'd certainly be cheaper than suing you to get it back, even though they'd likely win. As for whether women and golfers can learn that ".golf" is a valid domain, I think that's up to you knowing your audience. My daughter has natalie.golf and I have erik.golf.
