For either Clemson or Alabama to lose would be a stunner. I like MSU to beat Iowa and get in. Oklahoma is already there.

After a big relief against TTUN, I'm ready to leave it there and not try to play the crazy scenario game.

Just to look at some odds,

From ESPN, Clemson has a 59% chance to win. Alabama has a 79% chance of winning. Stanford has a 49% chance of winning. Michigan State has a 64% chance of winning.

Right now the rankings are,
1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. OU
4. Iowa
5. Michigan State
6. Ohio State
7. Stanford
10. North Carolina

For Ohio State to get in they would probably need Stanford to lose to knock out that Pac-12 champ.  Then they would need either Clemson or Alabama to lose. I am not sure I see North Carolina jumping up 6 spots to #4. It took Ohio State a 55-0 drumming to pass TCU and Baylor last year to sneak in. Unless North Carolina wins by more than 2-TD's I don't seem them jumping that high.

Running the percentages Ohio State has a 31% chance of making the college football playoffs.

The only tricky part would be if MSU beats Iowa, does Iowa get another shot over Ohio State.

So Go Trojans and Go Tar Heels, and on an off chance Go Gators :)

So no underdog was willing to step up. Though North Carolina made it interesting, yet the refs screwed them over royally with that BS off sides call on the onside kick.

Just for kicks lets expand the playoff into a top 8 scenario :) With my odds :p

Clemson v Notre Dame (THE REMATCH!), -2 Clemson
Alabama v Ohio State (THE REMATCH!), -3 Alabama
Michigan State v Stanford (THE REMATCH FROM 2014 :p), -6 Stanford
OU v Iowa (Ummm), -14 OU

Really Iowa doesn't belong anywhere near the top 8. Though they won 11 games. They overachieved way too much this year. Their metrics said they should be 9-3. I think Florida State or TCU would be a better option.

I would take a weekend of these match ups anytime :)

It's not so much unwilling[1] as Stanford had that one player who proved too much to handle.  I think USC would have had a much better chance of winning if that guy had declared for the NFL draft a year ago (or just slept in that day).

I don't follow college football so I don't know who that player was, but I did see that game and there was a Stanford player who seemed to be everywhere.

[1] I knew what you meant, don't worry :-)

    • Tale of two swings.  Swing 1: Slightly outside takeaway (hands move outside of target line) only to allow trail elbow over collapsing at P4. Doesn't take much to overdo it for the trail elbow collapse to only further exaggerate. That's death. Swing 2: Hands stay slight in at takeaway for a much better trail elbow condition at P4. This is a hard sell from an instinct perspective. More focus on un-weighting and re-weighting of lead foot to unlock a bit more mobility of hips and torso. A major flaw that creeps up often is me swinging flat footed and becoming overly armsy-collapsy as a result. Got reminded of this the hard way during my 2nd round match for club net championship. Was cruising along 2up until I made the turn. Then lost the swing for next five holes. Andy was playing good enough to capitalize. By the time I regained my swing on 16th, it was too late. Even Andy was like "That was a gift". Obviously that stings because have played well enough lately. Should have closed him out of the game comfortably with a few holes to spare. Shoulda woulda coulda. Tough lesson. Damn. P.S. I know the swings look very similar but trust me there is a difference.
